Because people want to hold out hope that this isn’t the new normal.
Because people want to hold out hope that this isn’t the new normal.
The US will protect US based manufacturers from the Chinese price dumping vehicles here. Keeping an industrial base is far more important than cheap cars. Not to mention there really isn’t any cheap cars done by anyone because they don’t make profit on them.
The average cost of a new car is something like 45K the last…
“It kind of creates a loophole for automakers to target more affluent customers who are probably more likely to be able to afford and actually get approved to buy an EV,” she said.
As someone who lived in Florida- I can tell you why this law is; because 300 decibel Stereos are beyond obnoxious. At the beach or sitting in your house.
Another way to look at it could be by the number of tickets per 100k by different age brackets.
Of course, the claim of unequal enforcement solely due to racism sets up the obvious counterpoint question: Do Black drivers disproportionately play loud music more often than white drivers?
So, only black people drive around with their music up too loud? I don’t understand the point of this......it’s saying that more black drivers are being harassed than should be - but one person got ticketed 5 times in one day? You’d think after the second ticket they would be aware of what they were doing that was…
the insurance industry is basically a bunch of legal extortionists.
It doesn’t really matter who the national leadership of the UAW endorses, the union vote is going to Trump. Granted this isn’t super scientific but a quick stroll through the UAW shop floor where I work has Trump winning the vote of the rank and file by a pretty wide margin. If the toolbox has a sticker on it, it’s a…
Equal to, but five years later than everyone else, has been GM’s standard operating procedure for at least the last three decades.
Ah GM of today, setting the bar at being as good, but never better. But then always woefully missing the target.
No, it’s a ridiculous assertion. Every time a non-software company claims they can do something like this as well or better than a software company, they always fall on their face. Always. Best case scenario is that it won’t suck. There’s nothing they can do that will make people *prefer* it to what they already have…
Spin it any way they want, the only thing compelling they want to build is bigger profit margins.
Yeah...then do THAT first and THEN discontinue CarPlay. It’s not a choice to use your “better” system if there is no choice.
he believes customers are upset over losing phone projection merely because they’re used to it, not because they love it
If they have such a compelling solution, people will want to use it, given a choice. I’m pretty sure whatever they are using has the capability to have Carplay also. Would be a nice A/B.
GM, and particularly Scott Miller are delusional. NO ONE wants this. Having the phone interface so you can play your music on the apps you want and use the phone navigation is what people want. All Scott Miller and GM are doing is making sure many people won’t even consider their EVs at all.
These people just don’t realize how attached people are to their phones.
This is a ridiculous assertion. Apple and Google have spent billions of dollars and have decades of experience in putting together a tech user interface, and as a result we spend all day on our phones. There is no way in hell any automaker is going to do a better job, and they probably don’t care to. They just want…
