Carmax operates by the notion that if you’re the primary buyer you have to be in store to take delivery. This is so they have you on camera verifying delivery. Supposedly this is to comply with the Fair Credit Act so if that’s true then buying a car without taking physical delivery or signing in person is illegal.

I’d be willing to wager that large fleet incentives are to blame. Especially with their trucks, which have the biggest profit. GM has reduced fleet sales and has lost overall sales numbers but have increased profit. More than likely Ford is filling some of the gap GM left and is now suffering because they are selling

Interesting that Toyota is putting such big money into the Camry at this time. I know the article states $10 billion overall so this investment is just over 1/10 but why not put that money into upping the timeline for its crossovers? Or updating the Tundra?

I think this type of article and with the publication being enthusiast oriented would be a great spot to showcase vehicles you wouldn’t immediately think of. We all know you can baby in a Yukon (hopefully), but can you baby using a Camaro, mustang, 911? If you can with those vehicles what is front seat space like?

The SI will only be coupe/sedan. If you want performance with your hatch you need to step up to the R or sport models. It’s really unfortunate

Lease is the perfect way to own this car!! The first year reliability might be crap but with a full warranty and a close dealer with plenty of service loaners I don’t see a huge issue. Let him experience Italian ownership for himself if it’s a pile he will dump it quick at lease end.

It would be interesting to see a comparison to the average demographic of each country. Then use that and compare against this data i.e. What about the average person makes Company A so appealing?

That’s $31,600 in today’s money!! A bargain compared to both a new one and what an actual 1953 vette would go for.

This sounds like a good idea but depending on where they want it in the lineup this could be disastrous. Part of the reason the mentioned cars are so expensive is because they have an intense focus on lightweight optimization. The Mustang hasn’t been known as a featherweight as of late so it’s going to have to go on a

Love Mini’s lineup but there is only 1 dealer (that I know of) in my state and it’s on the complete opposite side. Plus I’m a sucker for splurging on options which would make a Mini waaaaaayyyyy too expensive.

Carmax is starting to get some 328 models with few options in that mileage/price range. Very compelling package for the size and ability of the vehicle + maxcare warranty would most likely be worth it.

I believe C&D posted a faster 0-60 in the top spec Touring trim (CVT only) than the previous Si. The previous Si stuck to the formula well and if that was what you were looking for then awesome, but compared to the competition it was outmatched.

Come to the Pacific Northwest!! With plenty of hydro power generation

Neutral:

You’re telling me that the Cruze has limited cargo space? You must be a full size SUV driver because last time I checked the Cruze had 15 cubic of trunk space, which is as big as some midsize cars and bigger than most of the compacts when it was introduced.

With GM not selling to fleets in such great volume one could probably assume that the Camaro is part of this decrease in fleet sales. If that's the case then the sales should more closely reflect actual consumer demand unlike the mustang where I see base V6 coupes and convertibles on the rental lot all the time.

The problem with Carmax is that they seem to inflate prices on a lot of cars so suddenly the difference in the vehicle price and the pre-owned residual are a lot higher than what it would be normally. So unless they can leverage some good money factor from their finance partners I don't seem them being a good option

This sounds like an awesome vehicle....but is it really $15k more fun than the Focus RS or $10k faster than a Camaro SS?

Agreed but with a newborn the 4 doors and hatch really speak to me.

While it has drift mode im interested to see what using that mode does to the car. I am probably wrong but i thought that drifting was really hard on cars.
