You’re missing the point. The charge of sexual assault is one piece of a puzzle. He’s also lied in sworn testimony, obfuscated, pounded the table like a child having a tantrum, openly stated that he’ll be the Republicans’ guy on the court, etc. Yes, it’s a preponderance. 

I wish the GOP would kick these disgusting assholes out. Let them form their own party, a real and truly independent Alex Jones Tea Party, so we can keep an eye on them. But to lose those assholes is to lose power entirely, something the GOP will never consider.

I have zero sympathy for cops. Their job is not really even that dangerous: Out of 750k sworn officers in this country (state and local), fewer than 100 die every year by assault. More cops are killed in car accidents. Fuck these power tripping, fearful fuckwits.
