The act alone is marvelous, but the "Boom!" put a huge grin on my face. Fantastic!

Took 'em long enough. I came up with this months ago:

Since one man doesn't have the sort of political or military power that was wielded to colonize territories in the past, I'd say the gesture is fairly benign in a modern context. It is a great picture though, and I love his "go get it if you don't like it" dare to the president.

Well, I was, until you gave away the secret of how you got pieces of corn to mix with gold. Sometimes a little mystery is a good thing!

So will large quantities of Froot Loops!

The term "nuggets' could certainly apply either way...

The fellows had long ago parted,
And seemed just a tad broken hearted.
'Til they met on post,
And started to boast,
Of which had more expertly farted.

We've found the same thing with a certain Longhorn location. Luckily, the one nearest us is really well run, and does a great job on their food. Meanwhile one near my in-laws is dubious at best, in a county that doesn't seem to care too much about silly things like "inspections." Same name, same decor, huge difference.

maybe we shouldn't think its that weird to see a restaurant review of a place like Olive Garden.

Part of me wished I could have been in the room when my colleague explained it to her, just to watch her face when the realization of the activity, and what she said, all became apparent.

It was epic. She looked around and clearly wondered why certain people were laughing much harder than others, but bless her heart, we just couldn't explain it openly in an office with some seriously uptight conservatives in charge of the place. I nearly bit my tongue off to keep from making one of about a dozen jokes

That's hilarious! (And a nod from one former teenaged Wal-Mart survivor to another.)

Sorry, couldn't resist! ;D

Haha! Nah, I'll grant you a permanent license. :)

I'm sorry, I guess I missed or couldn't see which reply was threaded to which. In that case, it's definitely odd to get that sort of response. I thought you articulated your points just fine, and that they should certainly be helpful to someone with with a genuine interest in understanding the subject more.

I didn't think you were rude or unreasonable either. To be as fair as possible to all, with kinja reply-threading being what it is, it's possible dailylama didn't see your P.S. to smith60, which was helpful to clarify your position and intent across the whole thread.

Just gonna leave this here:

I saw a movie like that back in the 80s. Surprising no one, it involved a character referred to only as "the pool guy."
