The Venn diagram of people who can afford fast wagons now that they have been priced into oblivion and people who want a fast wagon instead of a 4 car garage setup that already involves a Range Rover/Escalade, Tesla, and sports cars is probably pretty small.

I tried to special order one, but the boxes for brown, TDI and manual were greyed out

people were asked to wire transfer $50,000 to secure their place in line for the car, or pay the full $250,000 for one of the one-thousand “Founders Edition” models...

Given that some Tesla buyers paid $15k for imaginary FSD, paying just over half that and actually getting something doesn’t seem like such a bad deal.

James Bond: Worst-Secret-Agent-Ever! Everyone knew who he was!

I’m not sure I believe this story.

Elon should have stuck with his day job of designing trucks

I hate to hit everyone with CA1 over the head, as it’s such a common highway to tout, but driving it on an early, EARLY spring morning north of Malibu headed up to Santa Barbara is just... sublime.  Like, there’s nothing like it anywhere in the rest of the country.

Boat dock watching is one of my favorite pastimes. Up there with people watching at the airport.

Counterpoint: Fuck Machine Gun Kelly and his entire douchebag schtick. I’m living for the day a bank safe falls from a tall building and crushes him, Wiley Coyote style.

Ah, another day, another lead for a car company I’ve never seen an ad for. I guess Tesla is still shooting for the 2 or whatever. I’ll guess that by the end of the day, there will be another update on the mythical Cybertruck, which I know more about than the Rivian or Lightning.

It’s OKAY priced. A new 3 is similar but the S is a better highway cruiser and this one seems pretty well put together (I did not get a feeler gauge out for the gaps). Redo the tint (mandatory driver side and probably windshield), redo the tail lights (asshole idea), a couple of grand off and I’d be interested.

Also, I think I can smell the car from here.

I’m shocked.

Many have explained that EV school busses are a really good use of EV technology. Yes high initial cost but then so much less for fuel, maintenance and kids do not breath diesel exhaust.

Maybe he can make offroad tunnels.

Showing any political preference is completely stupid if you’re trying to sell a consumer product. There was a time I would’ve bought a Tesla, but now it feels like a car version of the red MAGA hat.

It’s like watching sideshow bob step on the rake.

I might be able to muster up some empathy if all his problems weren’t knowingly and willingly self inflicted.
