There was a press conference when the 4C was introduced and someone asked Sergio Marchionni why it didn’t have a manual. His response was (I’m paraphrasing from memory): “Nobody would buy it. You, a couple of your buddies and I would, but nobody else would. It just doesn’t make business sense to develop for 4 customers

I had a 1978 Capri MkII back in the day (it must have been a leftover 1977 but it was titled as a 1978). Sold it for my first new car, a 1983 Mustang GT. I always wondered how easy it would be to swap in a 5.0/T5 and get the best of both worlds...

Doesn’t this engine have the cam chain guide issue? I don’t think that was ever fixed on these V8s. ND from me for that reason alone....

I always loved the exterior look of the 145, more than the 245 but that interior design looks so much more dated than the 245 interiors that I spent my childhood years riding around in.

The diff locking switch was for the center and rear differentials, not the front and rear differentials.

But all things being equal (and I know it’s not that simple), if the Bolt loses 30% ands the Jag loses 3%, the Jag’s heat pump should be working at a COP of 10, which is very high for a heat pump at low temp.

I don’t think these numbers makes sense from a thermodynamics point of view. The Bolt loses 30% range and the Jag loses 3% range with both keeping the interior at the same temp? Doesn’t pass the sniff test.

A friend of mine’s dad had one of those as a company car. When I saw the badge, I said something along the lines of “that’s so cool”.

I noticed the harmonic balancer on my 94 Intrepid had gone bad, so I took it in to Crappy Tire to get it replaced. How hard could it be?

My father had a 1970 2002ti, the earlier dual solex carbureted version of the hot 2002. While 2002s were everywhere, tis and tiis were incredibly rare - my father used to claim that his was the last one sold in Canada before they went to the tii because of emissions regulations. Those big side draft carbs made it hard

I thought it was done because of room - hence the 6 cyl cars have the rack and pinion but they couldn’t fit it with the V8.

Maybe I’m being pedantic but that is a Chevrolet engine (or maybe a GM corporate engine). Pontiac stopped making V8s around 1980.

I remember reading an article where the UAW was involved in a bunch of scams in the 1970's involving underage kids working at GM. The UAW would create a fake name and employee number, then the local plant members would hire high school kids to work as that employee, pay them much less than the union rate and pocket

If this was a Westphalia in similar condition, it would go for this much (with a Subaru engine transplant it could go for double) but this is too much for too little.

No deal is worth dealing with the Kia dealer network. Get the Hyundai if you like the platform....

There is no such thing as a British car with a little rust. They either have no rust (ie desert car) or they need an entire new body.

It looks like those photos were taken with a GoPro...I’m getting major fisheye vertigo just looking at them.

Wow, a Mazda dealer was better to deal with than a Toyota dealer? That has to be the first time ever. Mazda dealers (in my experience) are only slightly above “buy here, finance here” lots

Well, at least he didn’t call women “Kitchen Appliances” like Bernie notoriously did. Progress?

But the quality of the work (and the videos) is incredible. Who cares if it ever runs? I’ll watch for Nick’s fabrication and Richard’s running commentary for another 20 years.
