I am saddened that we liven in a world where the answer is no longer Volvo 240.

I love my Scion XA, but this A pillars along with the previous owner adding those little covers to keep rain off you if you crack the windows makes visibility a pain at times.
Getting things to don’t thise old dashboards is a bit of a pickle. They do sell some units that fit properly though.
This one is all “stock” as it Came from contemporary minus a cabinet that probably disintegrated over the years.
Those guys look like they have some really custom stuff. I can relate to the difficulty of working on older vans, but ours isn’t nearly as custom. It’s basically all original as it came off the conversion factory floor in 1979. I have since pulled the original Audiovoc tape deck and added a modern MP3 deck.
Did 18+” in a Toyota ECHO with snow tires. Snow coming up over the hood is weird.
I drove a Volvo 244 for years in the snow with rear studded snow tires and some weight in the back. I had chains for the really nasty stuff. Only ever had a problem on the steepest hills when there was 8+ inches on the ground. That car was great on snow, though it would go full on rally if you pushed it, sliding…
Simple, yet tells you everything you need. It even gives you shift points in both Low and High range.
It’s not the medium that makes the music though, it’s the programming. Anything can be good as long as the playlist/program is thoughtfully put together.
One time, I went out to start my old 88 F-150 in -10 F weather and the key turned to run, then completely froze. Had you use a lighter to warm up the ignition switch so it would free up.
I prefer to think of a few other explanations:
I’ve smelt quite a few hot semis ooutside if Pendleton, OR coming out of the blue mountains. Sometimes they send to have trailer brakes that are out of adjustment, but sometimes they are just pushing their luck. Kind of a scary descent as many trucks are doing < 25mpm, but when you try to pass, some idiot in a car…
Decorations aren’t bad per se, it’s the lazy decorators I don’t like that just slap on some of those reindeer antlers that attach to the windows on the generic SUV/car.
Agreed. For anyone that disagrees, check out these top fuel fun facts:
You forgot about the stands full of full drunk idiots who will fight in an instant and yell enough obscenities to make me never want to take my children to that kind of environment.
Had that happen one night when I was merging onto the freeway in a Toyota ECHO with snow tires on. Short wheelbase FWD plus this soft snow tires sent int into a crazy tank slipper.
Apparently little Danny grew up and drive a big ‘ol F350 these days. Not sure why he wants a constant reminder of the days at the Overlook Hotel... that probably scarred him for life.
I’ve been on some trails where an SxS ATV was like this. We were in regular 4 wheelers or trail bikes, so it wasn’t a big deal, but the SxS folks all turned back at some point.
Mine have been one for almost 2 years and they are finally giving out (not Rain-X; just Bosch moonbeams)
The speedo is really only for street use.
