Even my Scion xA 1.5L with a short ratio 5-speed can cruise at Idaho’s 80MPH limits (albeit at about 4200 RPM)

This would actually be interesting... especially at plate tracks.
I half expect if he makes it to Moab, the cON guys will have a fully rebuilt Go Devil waiting for him (or else someone wil shoehorn a Pentax’s tar V6 in there)...
With 9.5x30" tires, the van has a pretty decent clearance. We use it primarily for trips/ camping and the super soft suspension is great for washboard roads. I just wouldn’t want to get into much mud.... I don’t thinks I’ve even seen a 4wd conversion on an actual conversion van though. The modern vans weight…
Hey now, our drivers ed car was a Corsica! We learned about emergency maneuvers in a car quite possibly never intended to change direction in any sort of a hurry.
Last summer when leaving a campout, someone had left a Toyota ECHO parked blocking off the campground exit and no owner around.
Ours is a conversion, but has a piece that come off with all the woodwork, then a stock dogHouse under it.
Gotcha! I read it wrong.
More than 4 made it through that wreck. Some had previous damage.
I don’t think segments did much different that the caution clock or really even before that.
The 4 truck had a good bit of damage and still pulled a top 10 though. It wasn’t too bad until that last lap wreck took out so many.
Mine is happy up to about 60. Above that it does sound a bit like a big OTR semi with an inline 6 diesel. I would imagine the ones with 3.08 rear ends would pull 65-70 no problem, but I have 3.55s four hauling power (also makes 1st gear in an M5OD bearable).
I can usually manage 17-20 MPG, but I suppose that’s pretty low.
I like a bit of both. I can see why they made the 325e because most American cars were pretty torquey (and not particularly sporty).
Sound a bit like my 88 F-150 that has the 4.9L/300cid I6. It’s rated 145HP @ 3400 RPM, but 265 lb/ft @ 2000 RPM. Not even sure of the redline, but it’s useless to rev above 3500 RPM.
Our last house sat on a piece of land that was parceled out in the early 1900s. Due to that, it had some covenants like: no lives to pick stables and no operating saloon on the property.
I have found a couple of these folks’ videos helpful with driving technique: especially for rally driving:
