I believe they were doing it to avoid sales tax. 6 or 7% on a $50-100k purchase adds up.

That reminds me that my old 1977 Volvo 244 had an option for a passenger side rear view mirror; mine did not have that option. It didn't have power steering either.

Boxes are nothing new. My van originally had an option for a freakin dresser in the back (also options for a fridge and stove).

That’s still pretty small....

You kids these days have it easy... Try listing your options in a 20-character wide field (CUSTOM STEERING WHEE is that some code for fun to drive?)

Find a Pre-1995 Ford F-150 with the 300cu/4.9L inline 6. With regular maintenance, those big sixes will last 300,000+ befor work is needed. I believe UPS rebuilt them at 500k (often the bottom end was still fine at that mark).

In guess I have to stop complaining... Aside from the spark plugs being a complete pain to swap out, at least I only have to pull the doghouse.

Having distinct cars helps in the event you need someone to look for them.

Why wouldn’t a rally spec Z car be awesome?

Probably sounds just as good, is more comfortable and a lot less expensive...

Yeah, but you’d have to get the hood open.. We wait, it doesn’t have an inside latch...

Only way you are hacking me is with an EMP pulse.

Agreed with the premise.

Agreed... The scion xA is probably the best proportioned on the platform.

I remember that from time to time WA would crack down on Idaho and Oregon plates.

Southern Idaho can be like that because some of these areas get cold, but not that much snow. Also, they don’t bother to plow until make 4-6” of snow. Salt would be too expensive as well.

Well heck, ALL of my cars are eqqipped with this automatic braking method! Not so economical to use however.

By the time my kids are old enough to to drive, there won’t be anything to actually teach them. Everything is monitored by the car anymore.

Now playing

Do t know what it is either, but even my little Hon da Tail 110 which is basically a scooter on knobbies can get through the corners nicely

Let me know when he washes, dries, waxes and vaccumes something more a,in to a living room... Washing that little car is child's play.
