If I had to pick, it would be 3. The problem I have is that a lot of wallpapers look great as thumbnails, but they're ... overwhelming?... at larger sizes. Maybe I should just use rows of thumbnails for a wallpaper.

Hmmm. Yes that's true. The idea needs work. Maybe there could be some little graphics to represent recycled files that have now been tossed out of the bin to make way for more recent things that got deleted... bits of crumpled paper in red, just around the bin, nothing messy looking though.

It seems perfectly fine to me. I might opt for a sound byte that has the song lyrics "goodbye, cruel world", then the secure flush. I saw something like that at a novalty shop once.... a guy in a toilet, with his hand on the flusher, and those words on a caption above him.

@Russ Foster: What I sometimes wanted, was a Recycle Bin icon that better reflected how much was in it, based on the space given it. If it were a quarter full, then the basket would look about a quarter full, something like that.

It doesn't matter how much I sequester myself or how thrilling the event is - if I know the game has finished, it's difficult to sustain authentic interest in what I've recorded.

What I like more than a Recycle Bin icon is to use a shortcut that points to ccleaner, with its /auto switch. I like it so much, it's on quick launch. And in case I'm too lazy for even that, this ahk line makes it quicker still.
