I would like to say Steins;Gate too. Almost all of the people that I've shown it too. Including non anime watchers have loved it immediately.

This got me started on anime
I would recommend Witch Hunter Robin for a great starter anime. It is short and self-contained without a huge amount of mythology to have to get. Plus it rocks!
Of course, supporters of the movement weren't pleased by that description. Some of them pointed out that, hey, they were helping fight harassment by reporting people like Sousa—people who took things too far. But at the same time, even a cursory search for Sarkeesian's name on Twitter and some other Gamergate-heavy…

You really don't want to defend Anita by accusing others of strawman
Say what you want about her opinions, but this is spot on:
Funny- I feel the same way about this constant glut of articles bemoaning imaginary rape culture and sexism. But while the writers of those are "brave" and "topical", anyone who says the opposite is a crybaby or misogynist.
Yup. I don't really care too much about the whole feminism thing but the approach towards supporting feminism is as negative as those who strongly oppose. What does that result in? If you guess more negativity, then you're right. Antagonizing people don't win favors nor support.
I've heard a cacophony of vague complaints that game journalism is too distracted with this social issue or that or not playing it straight enough about just focusing on games .... or all sorts of other perennial complaints that these days manifest as complaints about "social justice warriors," a pejorative for game…
I don't know much, but i think it was pretty accurate. not to mention incredibly fun.
This a thousand times over. This is why everyone is pissed off and I don't understand how game journalists are not getting it. No one anywhere is saying that games can't be more progressive or depict women AND men in better, more enlightening and thought provoking ways. That should really be the goal of games as…
Man you should be at the top of comments, you articulated coherently what many (myself included) can't and not because we don't understand the problem but because not all can easily word their thoughts or feelings.
I'm so, so, so confused as to the seeming ignorance of the gaming media here. Maybe it's because my main interest is politics that I have a certain detached view of this.
God fucking dammit. Never posted on Kotaku before, but this lack of controversy has sufficiently irritated me enough to have to editorialize.
Fuck. This. Noise.
I didn't even know of this woman an hour ago, and i'm already sick of her shit. I read her tweet where she showed the "death threats" she got, and it's a…
i dunno...i didn't think it was that sad, but perhaps years of rewatching texhnolyze have inoculated me to anything bleak
This is complete bullshit. If he didn't rape someone, he should absolutely defend himself. People are raped and it's horrible, but people are also falsely accused and that's also an injustice. These things come down to pure "he said, she said" and that's what makes them so difficult, but an innocent person…
"Sunday without God" and "Casshern Sins" is both melancholy and philosophical. I also suggest "Shinsekai Yori" whenever I can. A favorite that is full of moral dilemmas.
