The description of the campaign as being opposed to diversity speaks to the core of the grievance of the "Sad Puppies" campaign, and I don't think it's something many on the opposite side fully grasp. As far as I can tell, what they are opposed to is identity politics, which is not the same as diversity.

It's simple. The rest of us do not want to view gaming through the lens of college-level English classes with its menagerie of post-structuralism, post-colonialism, Marxism, Feminist theory, Queer theory, multiculturalism, and so forth.

Definitely check out Shin Sekai Yori (From the New World). One of the more mature shows I've ever seen, and definitely one of the darker ones.

I think the problem with sending in F-16s is that you'd have to remove Assad's air defenses first. That said, F-22 in an air to ground role strikes me as just plane wrong. Perhaps it makes sense if there are a very limited number of targets (since the Raptor can't carry that much ordinance), but I would think the US

I think your point is right on.

From now on, I will be exclusively referring to them as "Social Wustice Warriors". Thank you.

I'm kind of in the same camp as you. Heck, I'll go even farther, and say that I vote Republican, and I'm a social conservative. Anyway, Giz and Ars are pretty reliably leftist, but it can be filtered out. Slashdot tends not to be too bad. Engadget is pretty non-political, as is AnandTech.

Try "From the New World". I'd say it's a bit more accessible than Texhnolyze, and not nearly as dark, but I found it provided a whole lot of interesting ideas.

I'm kind of amazed that anyone would choose to rewatch Texhnolyze.

Texhnolyze is certainly unique. Not an enjoyable experience by any means, but definitely worth seeing once.

I'm not sure his tragedy meter is particularly well-calibrated, given that he uses Nagi no Asukara as an example of a depressing anime.

I second the recommendation for "Shin Sekai Yori" ("From the New World"). One of my favorite anime, and inexplicably obscure. "Sunday without God" is excellent also.

Good article, but I would add a few things (since I've been using a similar setup for a few years):
