Tom,
Tom,
Hi Tom,
If your baby does not like cars, the train is the way to go. A trip to Tahoe from the bay is normally ~3.5 hrs in the summer. Our 5 month old could stand about 20 min. in their car seat before having to stop to calm them down. Repeat every 20 minutes and you have a VERY long drive ahead of you.
They were rampant 10 years ago when I was there too. What Honda brings to the table is in a different league though and likely priced out of the Chinese mass market.
From Forbes.
Let’s say for arguments sake the Chinese middle class is 300,000,000 people. That would make it the largest middle class in the world and on the order of the entire population of the U.S., which by the way has the largest economy in the world. That still leave approximately 1,000,000,000 people. So while we ma call…
It’s mind blowing to me that they can achieve a sub 3 second 0-60 by applying the brakes!
Because full size trucks can be indicative of the market for mid size trucks. Yes they will never sell as many as full sized volumes. This does not mean that they won’t sell enough to get into the zone where material costs dominate the cost of a part.
Honda 240V generator in the frunk?
Ford sold 909,330 F series trucks in 2018 in the US alone. Just over a million worldwide. I couldn’t find the breakdown but did find multiple references that said a “vast majority” or “the majority” were F-150 models. So simple majority and we have 454,666 F-150 trucks sold in 2018. Multiply by a 5 year lifecycle and…
That is not quite how it works at the volume these trucks are or will be sold. Look at almost any plot of part cost per volume and you’ll see somewhere between 100k units and 500k units the raw material takes over as the majority contributor to cost. Once you get to 1E6 it makes up almost all the cost.
I keep hearing these comments about razor thin margins on used cars but have also heard about how inexpensive cars area at auction. What expenses does the used car dealer have to thin out the margin on a car?
Could use a little more black.
I see nothing wrong with this. Leave the orange bikes for the energy drink crowd and do more of the 390duke ==> Vitpilen conversions for people like me. Orange just does not suit me.
I couldn’t even begin to tell you. I, and many others, have heard stories over the years of people working with their dealer friends to purchase a car at auction for thousands less. Are the dealerships adding thousands of dollars of value by reducing risk? Are used car lots doing the same?
Tom,
I remember a spin I took on the Super Duke in Oregon. It was the only bike I have ever ridden where I saw light speed on initial acceleration.
There is very likely an accelerometer, probably a full IMU chip, in the device. I believe this due to these specifications published by Vbox themselves:
I had it open as a tab on my browser since then. Just got around to reading it.
This makes me think of how I look at bicycle racing. I could be twice as fast as you downhill, but if you are twice as fast as me uphill, you’ll beat me every time. Due to the average speeds per section, you spend vastly more time climbing than descending.
