I highly suspect it was just be refounded by the exiled mods under a new name, but similar layout. Will just take a few weeks to find hosting, build out the site, etc.

Not at all really. 4chan is a den of racism, sexism, bigotry, etc, long before the likes of /pol/ took over. It wasn’t just condoned, it was a core part of chan culture.
Sounds like you had your head in the sand then, while GG was starting up. Hell, go visit any GG haven these days and it’s largely the same argument. They just frame it as ‘get politics out of gaming’. But just ask them what ‘politics’ they are referring to, and it comes down to censorship requests/controlling the…
GG had a singular goal though: the suppression of everything they saw as SJW in gaming. It was the unholy combination of MRA types, the alt-right, and sexually frustrated gamers. IT was a censorship campaign that wrapped itself in the flag of anticensorhip, but whose goals could only really come down to suppressing…
Yeah, this isn’t going to do him any favors. I suspect the mods who left will just restart a new forum somewhere else, the userbase will migrate, and that will be that.
I was clearly referring to /pol/, an alt-right hate site that hates kotaku, as well as any other site that promotes diversity, social issues, etc.
Without it, it’s too easy to create bots/swarms of alts. Need to have something that puts skin in the game. Really does cut down on chan culture/trolls/shitposting.
Its not college only, it was just ‘no free email accounts’. So work, school, etc would work.
Others are more like me, that is, our mothers actually raised us to respect women after their own hellish upbringings exposed them to the very worst there was, and like hell were their sons going to be like that.
I assume many gaters and pol types are trying to link Kotaku to this, to poison the well and drive people away from this site as well. It’s a very old conservative tactic, really.
Honestly, there is little difference between this and many other judged sports. Heck, it’s about as hard to do really well as many gymnastics disciplines.
A sudden death would raise alarm. A drawn out illness or condition, however, will appear more natural.
Don’t suppose that thesis is online, is it? Would be an interesting read.
There are actually quite a few adult stars on twitch these days. I suppose it’s still good money, and great cross promotion.
The thing with strippers is no one goes to a club to see nude girls. You go for the lapdances.
Sales potential compared to cost I think. Minecraft got lego for basically being lego already, and selling the trial kits like mad.
Unexpected successes in other areas. Team Fortress 2 took off, as did Portal and Left 4 Dead. So they prioritized portal 2 and L4D 2.
The thing is, they do make new games. They just don’t make new entries in old fan favorite series. Unless they can tack microtransactions onto it, they don’t seem to be interested.
I dunno, the burn though for food when you are talking about a city must be pretty huge. Dany undoubtable costs them quite a lot of grain here. Not to mention the manpower loss, and possibly losing two generals.
TV scale at work I think. I took it as that was the food they seized from highgarden and surrounding areas. What dany did was royally screw Cerisei: She got the gold, but dany destroyed all the food. A city runs more on food then gold.
