“That’s right, rather Honda sells a $156K car.”

I agree that people are going to want a re-charge time similar to liquid fuel, but if you just drove 300 miles, would you really be opposed to a 30 minute snack and coffee break while you re-fuel for free?

How often do you drive 500 miles with the whole family?

I really don’t understand the “shot with your own gun” argument.

“People even use revolvers, because they’re paranoid about being in a situation where they’re attacked by a criminal. If you ever find yourself attacked by a criminal you’re already at a disadvantage by the fact the criminal will be holding their weapon already by that point and you will not, so what does it matter?”

“ding ding ding”

The “But it prevents kids from using it” argument is not self-evidently true. You’re talking about a parent Who is careless about leaving their gun outside of the safe, but we’re sure they’re keeping the access device (ring or whatever) where the kid can’t get it? Why should we assume that?

“Only fools think offensive weapons i.e. firearms and knives protect them against criminals.”

You’re just making up an argument without seeing if that’s how it really plays out in reality.

The “you’re more likely to get shot by your own gun” is the straw man argument. It treats suicides as if they are the same thing as accidents. If I intentionally kill myself, it’s not “my own gun” doing it; it’s my own brain.

Here are hundreds of counter-examples.

I’d like to give Gizmodo credit where it’s due in this case. They don’t tend to highlight a lot of stories which go against their political bent. Gun control advocates have been pushing smart guns for a few years now, and shooters have been warning of this sort of problem.

Just off the top of my head, someone will start soaking them in nicotine-infused liquid. Then everyone will be SHOCKED that this completely unforeseeable thing happened.

people do not chose to have kids. kids are a drive. an imperative. and i have proof. yes anecdotal . but still. i have a pal that got with child while on birth control. 3 times. one of the times she was on the pill and using condoms. we joke that she can get with child by just looking at a dick.

“They had 3 kids and were fine, THEN Facebook moves in. It’s the same in Los Angeles. Google, Yahoo, SNAP, etc. etc. have all moved in since SF has become too expensive. Now, Los Angeles is becoming the same.”

“Let’s not forget that we live in a world where the dominant party has been making birth control and abortion harder and harder to access, and I don’t believe they’ve been a big fan of realistic/helpful sex ed either. So the amount of “choice” around having kids is getting a bit smaller every year.”

Step One: Block any new nuclear technology

The Russians were largely supplied by the Americans from the south (Which is why Stalingrad/Volgograd was so important). I think it was Tom Clancy who described the Soviet Army at the end of the war as “Weaker than wet dogshit”.

Are people in Bluest Blue California being “Forced” to have children through lack of access to birth control and abortion? Are you saying that is a real thing?

No health insurance, no birth control, no abortions
