I did read your examples. Each one. I’m not here to apologise or make excuses for shitty people. They’re shitty. You know it, I know it. I was just talking about the different Kinja communities. But if you don’t know have time to look at my history, not sure why I should have to read your walls of text.

Emma is right. At the time a blowout is worse because it’s the (constant) reinforcement that your team is bad. Flip side you can (and should!) appreciate your team playing well and making it a good game, but as time goes on the heart-breaker makes you question everything.

I didn’t say they were perfect. Just that they have a decent group of core commenters. I’ve been reading for a while. Maybe 4-5 years. I’d say the tone has gotten better. And again, I was comparing it to the other Kinja sites. But deadspin has been pretty vocal about the Kaep black balling. And their coverage of

I enjoy comparing coverage across sites, and I gotta agree. The Root might get some of the nastiest trolls (for super obvious reasons) but it’s core commenters are really great and the writers bring a lot more nuance to this stuff.
