@Canadian: It's basically decriminalized in the U.S. unless you're growing or dealing. People don't really go to prison here for possession of personal-use amounts. (Well, maybe in the South, but not in America proper.)

@medic.green: You say: "(1) It isn't my idea to be here. Politically I have many ideas contrary to our current national defense strategy. I would rather be providing the same training, support, security, and public works projects to our very own cities and towns."

@fughedaboudit: Yeah. The big issue with changing currency here is that you'd have to retrofit every vending machine, etc. to take the new stuff. QR codes on standard-sized bills would solve that problem. OTOH, I think there already exist bill readers for existing currency, so maybe the issue blind people have is

@fughedaboudit: Aren't Euro notes different sizes for different denominations already?

@ΡŻ: Well he has accusers, ne c'est pas?

@miocene: Yup. Pretty much every nice-ish restaurant I go to these days makes a big deal about sourcing their meat and produce from local, small-scale farms.

Is it just me, or is this like the fifth time Giz has plugged this app in the past couple of weeks?

@Kleppy: Maybe intentional but still wrong.

@OCEntertainment: What for? I've owned three iPhones, plus one for my fiancee, and I've never had to take any of them in.

The biggest missing feature in Reeder IMHO is the ability to add or remove feeds. Having to exit the app and go over to Google Reader is a pain.

@Stuart Cooper: Most of the Western world disagrees with you.

Private browsing mode looks like a hassle to turn on. I use Atomic Browser which lets you toggle it from within the app. I do like that the window color changes to remind you that you're in private mode, though. Atomic gives no visual sign.

@Algerad: Actually, no. My iPad 2 has no GPS but can still navigate pretty accurately using wifi triangulation.

@2nd White Line: I agree—London's public transit is pretty fantastic. I could do with fewer Tube outages, but otherwise it's great. Top level of a bus is a great place to tour the city from.

That's one fine-lookin' verbatim press release.

@isights: Exactly. What that 30% buys the publisher is 1) a turnkey distribution platform that they don't have to develop or maintain, and 2) a whole lot of eyeball traffic that they don't have to whip up themselves.

I'm actually really excited about this feature—a way to tell that have an e-mail or missed call from across the room is the only thing I really miss about my Blackberry. Well, that and Blackberry Messenger (which iOS 5 is also taking care of).
