Among academic libraries in the US, there used to be a consortium that allowed each others’ faculty members to have full on-site access to collections that were otherwise reserved for local faculty and students.

Thanks for putting into words a feeling I’ve had about the last season and this one. I still love the show, but it seems to have become less of an excellent “stylized representation of real people’s struggles” show and more of an excellent “stylized representation of fictional characters’ struggles” show.

When I realized that I use cigarettes to time my cooking (“finished that one, now it’s time to go stir the pots”) I knew quitting was going to be ridiculously difficulty. I still haven’t managed it.

I wonder if this and the next episode were originally written and shot as a single hour-long episode? I think the events of this episode might have played out better as a self-contained C-story, because (for me) they just didn’t work at all as a stand-alone episode. I can see how they might play better if it were an

I agree, and I think the glibness and his entire tone during the “why law” story was especially harmful because it contrasted with every single other thing he’d said and done during the interview. Either he was being sincere at the end and insincere for the rest of the interview, or vice versa. Switching horses in

I kind of suspect that “you weren’t sincere” is Lawyer Polite for “dude, you came off shady AF”. It seemed to me that their final question was an attempt to get some concrete specifics about Saul’s developing attitude toward the law that would convince them he knew *why* what he did was unconscionable—just saying “I

The same thing that will happen to Kim if the ADA reviews her notes and realizes Huell was in the lockup for some minor kerfuffle or some such on the date that Saul claimed he was being a hero in Louisiana. I feel like it might be intentional for us to see Saul’s reach exceeding his grasp.

I’m wondering whether these apparent oversights in the planning phase of the scam might be intentional on the creators’ part. I haven’t been keeping notes, unfortunately, but I’ve getting the sense over the course of the season that we’re supposed to be feeling that as Slipping Jimmy’s scams become higher-stakes, his s

Oh wow, looks like we share a lot of opinion! I was very leery of this season being a Coven crossover, because that and Hotel have been the biggest wasted-potential seasons (for me) so far. While objectively I can’t say Apocalypse is any better at actual storytelling, the underlying theme and the aesthetic are

> Are all witches naturally immune to radioactivity?

Thank you! That bugged me, although it doesn’t seem to much of a stretch to believe that the revelers were dim enough to believe that “Victorian” was a synonym for “before the 1920s or something”. Despite Mr. Gallant’s marvelous hair-styling skills, he strikes me as more of a person who mimicks than a person who

I wonder if you’re like me. Reading comments here, I think there are (at least) two different groups of AHS fans who enjoy the show for intersecting but ultimately different reasons.

“[Rushmore]...is filled with Anderson’s and cowriter Owen Wilson’s deeply personal observations.”

Coming in late, but I had to share this: Within a year of the film’s release, I saw someone try to do the earnest-geek-dance thing in real life. It was at a small MC Chris concert in a warehouse, and at one point a kid jumped up from the crowd onto the edge of the stage and began...dancing. The crowd mostly tried to

I’m coming around to the idea of gentrified fried bologna; if it’s a hit with tastemaking elite, it could trickle down into Applebee’s and, eventually, fast food chains. That would let me get a tasty, nostalgic sandwich when I’m too lazy to cook. As it is, I only have the opportunity when I’m visiting my father in

Ha! Bologna, Spam, and Vienna sausages are literally the only three meats I remember my granny serving, and she fed me every day when I was little.

In our family it’s three deep slits, making a “warning: radiation” symbol when it’s done. I’ll have to try the Iron Cross next time.

Thanks! I’m going to have to rewatch.

Thanks! I totally missed that.

I missed all three The Invisibles references. Can you share what they were?
