You might take a second look at your ageist implicit bias.

What I like about AOC is she is genuine and she is not here for any condescending shit from Old White Men™. She has priorities and ideas and you don’t a sense that she’s trying to come off as the world’s greatest expert on every issue...just that she knows what the problems are and that we need to get working on new

That marginalized tax rate point is the core one to me. Don’t get me wrong, I assume Scalise knows exactly how the tax rate actually works, but is intentionally misleading the discussion because he knows that a lot of people don’t.

I love that she has the guts to clap back at these blowhards but is doing it in a way that is not calling them liars, sexists or alarmists, but by basically calling them idiots and making them prove their knowledge. I don’t think a lot of our politicians really know their stuff when it comes to constitutional law, tax

Kathi Alizadeh had worked for the St. Louis County Prosecutor’s office since 1988, and she made $135,000 per year. She told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that Bell gave her a two-page letter explaining the reasons for her termination. She also said that she would be speaking with an attorney.

Exactly this. We can all be over-reactionary and call Questlove another coward who’s trying to play both sides, or we can stop, think for 30 seconds, and remember that Questlove has proven himself to be quite the opposite over the years, and that maybe the man might just know what the hell he’s talking about regarding

This is great. Not only do these changes help keep poor black people from being funneled into the prison system and the scam that is cash bail, but it also helps save the county money because they’re spending less resources prosecuting petty ass crimes.

The press needs to stop playing this dude’s game. If this is what he’s bringing to the table they need to get up and walk out of the room. Stop rewarding toddler temper tantrums.

Beto is definitely one of the guys in college who still wore shorts in the winter.

I don’t see anything wrong with that--looks like a lovely day! /Canadian

Two things:

First, inadequate training is absolutely not a red herring, as it is directly related to the argument at hand—and it mostly involves training for handling the firearm in a chaotic, violent confrontation—not shooting at paper targets on a range.  This is distinct from simple mechanical operation of a

Current professor of Rhet/Comp here.  This subject is very close to my heart, so this is going to be a long (even for me) post.  Feel free to look past it.

Arming me—or any other member of the faculty at my institution (or, I suspect, at any other)—as a means to prevent or at least lessen the impact of an active

(I really don’t have much else to say about this one.)

I’m always amazed that people will take the side of billionaires who just care about the team’s revenue over time, and can keep owning a team until they’re doddering, over millionaires who really, genuinely would love to win a championship, and have only a decade or a bit over to make money to last a lifetime. I can’t

They need to sign Gritty.

they gotta kill the rookie contracts, it’s the only real counter to this bullshit collusion of just not paying anyone who hits free agency

MLBPA needs to fight for a real salary floor if this is how teams are going to treat the tax
