So ladies (and gents), anyone who invites you or asks you to do something and then says “don’t tell anyone” RUN AWAY.
I went to a laser clinic that had crazy good reviews, their whole thing was like “we don’t do groupon because we’re good and we want to pay our people to go to training and be certified.”
They had a 50% off sale in August every year so I still probably paid $300+ for 5 sessions and then paid for the 3 extra sessions…
oooohh courthouse is MUCH closer to me than Dupont now... perhaps I will wander down there. Thanks for the rec!
So I’ve actually heard the opposite of what Yoya says (obviously my hair is dark and my skin is pale, so I can’t compare the difference.) I do know that your symptoms afterwards (redness, minor swelling) are MUCH less if you have dark hair/light skin because they can set the laser at a lower level to get more…
I’ve only had one place where that happened to me and it was a crappy mall kiosk!! I’m sorry that happened to you!
Well it does take longer than just ripping cloth off your face, definitely. :) However, I’ve only ever had one really painful session, and it was because I figured out at the end that the girl just wasn’t very experience AND they were using bad thread. But yeah, to each their own. Also, the first time I got my upper…
You’re right, I think I’ve just had bad experiences at mall ones, the malls that I got them done in are less trafficked by people who know what threading is (like one is in a mall where 75% if the people who walk through are military men...or at least that’s what it feels like) so the workers are less experienced. Oh,…
It really depends, there are apparently 2 types of lasers. But also, the difference is that the less contrast there is the “higher they have to turn up the laser” in other words, it’ll work, just less effectively and would be more painful.
Definitely a great idea. I am obsessed it with it.
It does take a little while to do, you have to shave the area that they’ll laser and then it’ll sort of slowly grow back in (you can shave as much as you want). Basically, what my people said was that upper lip and belly line are the ones that they don’t guarantee particularly because when people get pregnant, that’s…
So my place charged a little more than the groupon type places but that’s why they could get away with it. But, I always bought when they did their 50% off sale, so it made it very competitive.
so you recommend the dr brandt one? I love that brand normally but it’s $$$$
This is fucking fantabulous
Do you also go to Dupont Threading? Best place I’ve found in 5 years being here. So good, and so reasonably priced. Only problem is actually going up to Dupont. (I live in the southern bits of the city and work in VA, so i have to remind myself on the weekend to drive up there when my eyebrows are looking a…
If you like a strong brow/bare upper lip, and hate waxing I highly recommend finding your local brow threading establishment. These are typically run by ladies of South Asian descent and if you see other South Asian ladies (and men) getting their stuff done there that is your place to go. Do your research and avoid…
Best money I ever spent was on laser hair removal for a modified brazilian/ bikini wax. Got it at the place’s annual 50% off sale, and it was damn expensive but so, so worth it. I ALWAYS get terrible ingrowns from waxing of all kinds, shaving and that “sugaring” nonsense.
Granted, I did go to a place that after the…
*sigh*
Totally understandable in states that don’t have alimony, since you know, moms have to eat and stuff as the custodial parent... but like if you’re that worried about the woman using you as a meal ticket, become the custodial parent. He’s got enough money to hire full time nannies.
