I think the biggest issue with Brutal Legend was less the game itself and more that DoubleFine marketed it as an action game when it was more of a strategy game. But the game itself is a lot of fun.

Oh, for sure. I absolutely adore both Costume Quest games. When you boil them down to their base elements, they’re super basic and can get very repetitive, but they’re so damn charming! I just can’t get enough of it.
A) This is an excellent article, and really cool to see how gaming interacts with larger social issues.
B) The way the protestors have disrupted the Dota 2 tournament is really fucking awesome and I hope it continues.
I’m wondering if we’ll see a major exodus of people from the studio. That always seems to happen whenever a great mid-sized developer gets bought up by a major publisher.
Okay, let’s be real here. I love Double Fine, but I’m starting to realize it’s more because of their style and atmosphere and whimsy than the actual, you know, gameplay. I have yet to play a DoubleFine game that I didn’t feel had some major flaw in it. Which isn’t to say I haven’t absolutely loved a lot of their…
You start off your comment accurately saying a lot of people value animal lives MORE than human lives, but then you end your comment by literally excusing animal abuse, saying “it’s just a dog.”
Not great.
Why does this van look like it was designed by Akira Toriyama?
Can I just say that this is my absolute favorite regular feature you guys do? I love just looking at cool artwork from awesome people every day. It’s a nice respite from the, uh... dying world we’re living in.
Poor Bobby busts his ass every episode and barely even gets to hang out with the subject or be on camera!
Honestly, I don’t care where someone streams from because all that changes on my end is what website I’m going to to watch it. It’s like when a TV show switches from NBC to ABC: I’m just putting the TV on a different channel.
It’s good to see some competition, though, for the streamers themselves. I don’t watch…
Okay, yeah, the lack of seasoning is a problem for sure, haha. Seasoning is a great way to make cheap food taste great, especially. But you can blame, like, all of bland European cuisine for that.
All the people that like to call Antoni basic are ignoring the fact that the entire point of Queer Eye is helping people who basically don’t know how to care for themselves. The whole idea is to teach them basic cooking skills and basic recipes they can make quickly and inexpensively.
It’s so good! There are some wonky bits for sure, and it can be difficult to play if you don’t have an hour or two at a time to devote to a dungeon. But I love its iteration on the battle system, and how can you turn down a dungeon crawler with it?
Oh my god, I am so unbelievably excited for this. Grandia is my favorite RPG series, and Grandia and Grandia 2 are definitely the best titles in it.
I know the developer handling the port has said that the weird rights situation is what’s keeping them from doing a similar HD rerelease of Grandia Xtreme and Grandia 3,…
Given the amount of press the issue has received, I’d be surprised if the new model doesn’t have that fix. To be honest, I’m very surprised the joy-cons have so many issues in the first place. Nintendo’s hardware, and their controllers especially, tend to be rock solid.
And let’s be real, capitalism sucks more for indie devs trying to make ends meet. Do these people think that their silly loyalty oath to Valve is more important than developers getting to survive to keep making games? We should be cheering these guys on for exploiting the system and getting paid.
My god, I can’t read another fucking story about whiny gamer manbabies mad they have to download a different program to launch a store. It’s so fucking pathetic. Each and every one of them is pathetic.
Literally nothing is apolitical.
There’s no confirmation right now that Nintendo is doing anything differently than how they were repairing the issue in the past, by cleaning the control stick. The issue has been determined to be the graphite contact pad Nintendo uses for those control sticks. They break down over time and the little bits mess with…
This might be especially useful for parents to use to prevent their kids from inevitably being exposed to violent far right wing/white supremacist videos, since YouTubes algorithm seems to funnel everyone into that stuff eventually.
