I don't know what looks shittier. bumpers or band-aids. There has to be a better idea than THIS!

The problem I have with these things is that pocket lint tends to get under the edges. I'm always having to trim away. Also when it's really hot outside, the adhesive melts and the shield moves a bit. I guess nothing's perfect but I wish that wasn't so much of an issue.

If those phones that were mentioned do not include the Evo, why the picture?

"I live in Arizona." Hmm, well that explains everything, doesn't it?

@ScottHartnellsSenseOfBalance: Told you it wasn't something that could be fixed by software. Enjoy your free bumper, er... case... thing.

I agree. Whenever I read the words "someone with direct knowledge", it's a colloquialism for "someone that spouts bullshit"

@ScottHartnellsSenseOfBalance: If it was that simple, they would have had an update to fix it by now. Don't delude yourself. I am certain it's hardware related. Software fixes are so much easier (and cheaper) to release. This issue alone has cost Apple millions. They don't want to admit it's hardware because a recall

@Peter Zanetti: I agree with everything except the Verizon iPhone bit. That's just bullshit.

Far from a fanboy and a former employee. I think they'll be fine. The stock has taken a hit because they refused to come clean about a negative issue. This is the iMac LCDs (yellow issue) all over again. Apple came correct (eventually) and replaced or refunded upset customers and it will do the same for iPhone owners.

@dallasmay: Yep, that's standard Steve. He'll probably also brag about how many units have been sold.

The day I start taking WSJ reports seriously I'll have a tag on my toe! Screw these charlatans!

@MrHaroHaro: Not every word in Spanish has a direct translation in English. Ultimo translates to last. It's the most appropriate word in the English language.

Maybe it will be in 4.2?

@sprale: Give them a Kansas City Shuffle!

@lonniebear: I'd ask for a replacement based on principle that iPhones are not to be used in the shitter. Use your crackberry for that!

I didn't receive any freebie! I've been sending the hot spot reports and haven't complained (even politely). Perhaps now I should be more vocal than a mere SMS.

@Wade Chestnut: Parts ordered are for slated builds. I would blame Sprint for making such a short-sighted plan. HTC: "You want everyone to have an Evo but your 4G network will only cover 10-20% of those customers? So, you don't want to order more than 500k units. Let's wait and see..."
