Here’s some speculation:

I’m the opposite side of the coin. I’ve not read the novels, but i’ll be damned if I’m going to start reading them until he raps up the series. If he ever publishes his final novels, I’ll start reading them then. I hear they are pretty good.

Also at this point the books and the show are on mostly different narrative tracks and have been for some time. Apart from the revelation of Jon’s parentage neither one is going to spoil the other.

I expect GOT to carve out a slice of the readership of future novels. Say you’re right about needing three more books, and we get them six years apart each after Winds of Winter. That’s the series wrap up coming in 2030. For newer readers that GOT earned, that’s like picking up the novelization of a a TV series a

Jon wants what he never really had: a home with a family. He does not want to patrol the wall.

I want that so bad. Which almost certainly means he’ll end up dead. I was internally screaming through the part where he almost died in the last episode.

I still believe he’s going to end up writing three more books all told before he’s done).

I mean, Tormund has got to be Ser Tormund of Tarth and married to Brienne at the end of all this right? Please?

This also means that Tywin’s bloodline only produced Tyrion...the son he rejected and hated....which would be OH so delicious for Tywin’s plot line.

If we’re going to stick with A Song of Ice and Fire is basically the Wars of the Roses with dragons and magic, then Dany = Henry VII, Cersei is Richard III and Jon is Elizabeth of York.

I think he made a huge mistake in not sticking to his original plan of having like 7 years pass after Storm of Swords to let the characters grow up. It would have made Arya’s super assassin training make more sense, that’s for sure. And Dany would have had time to actually be a ruler for a while.

Really, we’re still believing that Martin isn’t just sat there staring at a blank page for all of time now.

Wow. You should probably just stop visiting the internet in general if this bothers you.

You’re upset because they revealed that one of the major culminating events of Episode VII is going to impact the characters in Episode VIII?

Can’t imagine how you can compare this to Walking Dead. Walking Dead is based on an already successful comic with great characters and storytelling. The show decided to do something else and change a lot of things for the sake of seeming fresh and not being entirely based on the comic.

“I don’t care if it was his son.”

Can’t imagine you have kids.

...You call it a stupid, careless mistake – but that implies that he doesn’t know what he’s getting himself into by going out on that bridge – which he absolutely does.
