I too am curious how you compromise this. I don’t think there’s a good outcome of having another child if one of you is against it. Not fair to the child who would probably be resented or treated differently by the parent that didn’t want it.

The decision to have (or not have) a second child was harder for me than the first.

I don’t think that is true at all. After having one kid, the two parents might have really different reactions to parenthood, and one may take on a lot more of the burden than the other. Not saying that is what happened here, but it seems pretty plausible for a lot of people.

Yes, all fetuses move with the exception of death etc. Not all moms experience movement the same and some move imperceptibly to the mother. Again, different women experience pregnancy differently. The same feelings you feel may be entirely absent to another woman.

Because not everyone experiences pregnancy the same way. Some people get almost no symptoms at all while others get the full gambit.

It is absurdly common for people to not know they’re pregnant until the the very latest stages. Seriously. They even made a show about it. It’s not an intelligence thing.
