I live in the UK and the thing I miss most about the USA is Chicago and the great state of Illinois. We don’t have crickets here and I miss that sound at night. My children will never know the pleasures of chasing lightning bugs.

Race mixing is the anathema to racism. Therefore mixed children are the living personifications of everything racists hate, especially the idea of people of different races being in love/having anything to do with one another outside of slavery. In the American South, mixed children are considered abominations.

I’m torn. I grew up in San Diego, which is a beautiful town with gorgeous weather, a great education system, and a population entirely consisting of unrepentant assholes in a resplendent multi-ethnic shade.
