I think for many of us, technology is neither good nor bad. When technological advances serve to improve the driving experience, say, like electric fuel injection, we embrace it.

Hat tip to Mr. kerc. My first car was a 1991 Civic DX sedan with specs not too far off from his Mirage, and I can attest to how fun such a car can be even taking it to the occasional autocross. If you can be happy with such a vehicle then be happy. It certainly does keep your auto fun budget in check and reasonable.
