Yeah, same. Seeing Joe Rogan and Jordan Peterson podcasts at the top of my homepage every day had been annoying me for months. This just gave me the push I needed to finally cancel.

Same here my friend. I’ve had Spotify/Premium for 10+ years and lost access to all of my Gundam OSTs, but I can no longer in good conscious pay for a sub that supports misinformation on a global level.

Cortana looks like she just stepped out of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.

Yeah, Pegg’s maintaining the proud British tradition of ‘I’ve never seen [crappy American movie] but I see the house it paid for’.

People like the Turnstile record because it isn’t a hardcore record, it’s a Jane’s Addiction record.

I agree with this. While largely a return to form after Love Is Dead destroyed all their goodwill, I think the singles still left a lot to be desired (excluding the Robert Smith track). I’m happy they still have life in them, but it still didn’t hold a candle to those first two Chvrches albums for me.

Hmmm, previously I would have been embarrassed to share my faves on a Cool List of Cool Bands, but since Bruno Mars and Adele placed, I’m comfortable sharing that I loved Andrew WK’s “God Is Partying” and The Dirty Nil’s “Fuck Art.”

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen an animated movie that was as aggressively average as Raya and the Last Dragon.

It’s for young children

It wouldn’t have been the first song I would think he would play, but it isn’t out of character either. I could easily see him spotting that on a jukebox & saying “Eh, fuck it”.

Yes, he was very much a classic rock guy. Journey songs made appearances in other episodes as well, although I’m not sure if he was shown listening to Journey in another episode or not (the other time a Journey song ends an episode it is non-diegetic).

I loved the first one, until I found out that it wasn’t a ludicrous, over the top parody of Tarantino knock-offs but was, in fact, a ludicrous and totally sincere Tarantino knock-off.

What makes you think he’d be one?

I will say that I find it hilarious that the site made $750,000 a year, while the mods, who practically all have massive egos and consider their work extremely valuable to humanity, didn’t make a single cent.

Now playing

Man. The Facebook comments are a trash fire. It seems slightly better here. There was a video I saw yesterday that had lengthy and nuanced breakdown of the special by someone in the trans community. I’m not saying she should speak for everyone, but it’s at least better than letting someone that’s cishet like me do so.

No, you’re right. I was into them and I was a gigantic asshole.

The metal kids made fun of me for my Weezer shirt

Were it not for guitar mags hyping black metal at the peak of nu metal, I’d almost certainly have wound up in a pop punk band with an inexplicable name with a bunch of numbers in it, like Zazz 67 or TI83 or some bullshit.

That might depend on your age. I was born in 1970 and the metalheads and dirtbags loved them, but by MoP, I noticed more and more preps being into them as well.
