I was won over on the car itself, but I don’t like it $60k much.

That’s definitely the van of an underground vigilante group that was falsely accused of crimes during Vietnam and has now dedicated itself to righting wrongs with guns and makeshift tanks and artillery while also somehow never killing anyone.
I had absolutely no idea what my car was going for after a year of ownership, though looking right now, it looks like about half of it’s original sticker price after 2.5 years of ownership despite its gas-powered engine.
37? In a row?
I mean, shortening the yellow-light times to make more money even though regulators said doing so increased danger in intersections (like what happened in Texas) doesn’t seem like safety is the priority behind installing those systems. Had they not done that, the cameras would probably still be allowed in Texas…
I discovered too late that the Optima I had was uncomfortable on longer drives. I still kept the car for the life of the loan and avoided long trips in it as much as possible.
Absolutely.
At first glance, this looks to me like operator error akin to the Audi 5000 fiasco, but that’s just a wild ass guess on my part that gives me no pleasure because I very much know Tesla’s automated driving is potentially dangerous and very overhyped by a certain individual.
But Pontiac was a brand owned and operated by GM, which still exists. And had a longer history, a lot more sales over a long period of time, and cars that while not always that reliable at least mostly worked.
Depending on price, I’d consider an EV, 2-door one.
I’m sure, but you don’t always get a chance to defend yourself, and given how some states have adjudicated cases in which homeowners have shot at or shot and killed tow truck drivers, any particular driver might be reluctant to open fire until it’s too late (I know in Texas, there have been police departments and…
I like the Ioniq 6 for some reason. I can’t figure out why it appeals to me, but it does. Admittedly, though, I do think the Ioniq 5 is better looking.
My dad’s mother-in-law used to say she felt like her ass was dragging on the ground any time my Dad picked her up in his 911.
It wasn’t even that popular of a movie.
I’d be more interested in seeing a bunch of different takes on modded Mustangs, even though there’d obviously be some I’d think were ugly, than a million Eleanor clones.
The Dart was not cutesy, though.
Hence why my Dad had two bankruptcies and was eventually convicted of felony bankruptcy fraud (not to mention all the tax fraud stuff he got away with over the years - when I was a kid I had to help my Dad fabricate mileage logs for his ‘company’ cars on the eve of an audit, for example).
This sort of thing is exactly why there’s a stereotype about doctors being terrible at investing and money management. Knowing lots of doctors, I’d say that often extends to medical areas beyond their scope of practice (my Dad was an anesthesiologist for decades, but he knows the basics or less about many other areas…
One thing we learned about Trump is that the law doesn’t matter, and unless the courts enjoin his efforts, he can just do what he wants for the amount of time it takes for a suit to wind its way through. Not to mention that anyone who has standing in such a suit might not want to file suit because of the optics.
I may be naive, but I don’t believe the bulk of the Republican party actually believes in across-the-board sky-high tariffs are a good thing. Once Trump is gone, there’s reason to believe that the adherence to tariffs goes away, especially if the effects are widespread and noticeable regardless of what party ends up…
