Thanks, you’re definitely the first person in the world to address fear of flying with the driving risks analogy. How very original.

It’s entirely possible that he was always an opportunist scumbag who said what he needed to get elected even though it wasn’t even passingly authentic. . . but I can’t help but wonder if what we are seeing now is the result of a cognitive shift post-stroke. Like, I guess it’s possible that he was some evil mastermind

I’m a hugely nervous flyer and the Max was already on my own personal “no fly” list after the first two crashes, but even I understood that wasn’t rational. But this recent string of incidents solidified its position. I have an upcoming trip to Ireland and Iceland where flying the first leg of the return (DUB-KEF) on

My ’90 was totaled in November when an inattentive driver in a Land Rover Discovery made a left turn right in front of me. Loved the car for 14 years and hoped to pass it down to my son eventually. But the car did what it was supposed to do; the airbag fired and the front end crumpled and even though I was shaken and

Fo' shiz?

My Miata was totaled last October. I’m still broken up about it, but it was not the worst thing to happen to me in the second half of 2023.

I genuinely feel bad for people who are tad too big for Miatas. My friend is like that, and he is very uncomfortable in mine. I’m sized properly for this car, so absolutely comfortable in it, but I feel for the taller people.

I once saw a fight break out at a Circle-K between one guy blaring the most obscenity-filled music I had ever heard and the guy at the next pump who didn’t appreciate the first guy’s taste in music.

It still is. But I had to leave some space for South Jersey and the rural parts of Sussex.

“average size Japanese dude”....

TWO MINUTES? Jersey folk must have mellowed out since I left in ‘88.

Also, please pay at the pump. Don’t be that annoying person waiting in line inside holding the line outside. Pay at the pump, move your car out of the way and then go buy whatever else you need inside.

A ‘74 Spitfire also uses your knees as crumple zones. It’s a massive feat of engineering that they were able to make a car so small and light with current safety standards. The original Mini also had incredible room inside for its size because it had zero safety whatsoever, that’s not a car that is possible to make

Dont sit there filling out your logbook with mileage and how much gas while sitting at the pump and then calculate something, oh and don’t you dare get on your phone.

I raise you slide 12:

Okay, fine.

Do NOT park in front of the air hose or the vacuum unless you are actively USING the air hose or the vacuum. Exceptions are made only if you are getting change from the person behind the bullet-proof glass. “I was completely oblivious as to where I parked while getting lottery tickets and a Mountain Dew” is NOT one of

Living in NJ, 0 of this applies to us, except, don’t park at the pump.

I’m waiting for my Club soft-top allocation (and my GR86) allocation, whichever comes first. Keep voting with your wallets people ! We need more lightweight, RWD, manual, N/A engine performance cars that don’t break $50K out the door. Also, we don’t need any complicated shyt that will bankrupt you in repair costs, turn
