Even the most exciting car is just a car, when you are keeping a constant 75 on the Interstate.
What, you want to listen to i4 diesel clatter, instead of glorious V8 screams? OK.
I can tell you that the Peugeot 505 has hydraulic headlamp height adjustment - because even the French didn't trust French electronics.
This is so late '80s, i cannot believe. Are there really people in America watching this.... on the net?
As some Murphy guy once said: shit happens.
But would make a very good Hollywood courtroom drama base plot.
Having driven both a late model Mini Cooper and a late model 112 Abarth, i would say that's a good way to describe this. However, the Mini is so petite, even the 112 is bigger even if only by little, and it also has a proper hatch in the rear - the 112 is definitely the more useful of the two.
As a very small print, let me say, that if you compare an 1986 E30 and an 1986 Opel Ascona the difference between the two will be roughly the same as the difference between a 2012 F30 and a 2012 Opel Insignia.
I would much rather an original Range Rover than this. I simply don't like how it looks, and there isn't anything really compelling about the driveline either. And besides, as it has been stated many times around here, you can have the rarest crap on Earth, it'll still be just crap.
3rd gear: It's been done, hasn't it?
I own TWO Peugeot 505s.
Yes of course. No reasoning needed, this really is a no-brainer.
You can have a Rolls with whatever upholstery you want it. What's more, wool carpets don't even get it into "individual" category, they are a simple accessory you can spec.
I drive cars without any driver aids regularly, and i just don't do loss of control, or crashes with them on the open road- so i trust myself enough for this job. I would take the needed 3 weeks off work for sure, get my mate and a few cameras on board, and do the best road movie.... in the wuuuuuuuuurld!
I get the Ms. Jolie reference, as she doesn't do anything for me either. However, as you said, the SC looks aren't in the eye of the beholder category: the first was bland, the second unoriginal as it was shared with something much cheaper. So i have to reiterate: neither can be said of any of the German rivals. OK, i…
I would probably take a Defender instead. On the same tires it's probably a bit worse off-road, or at least takes more skill because nothing is automated and there's "only" a central locking diff, the rears are open.
