I would never consider paying money for a topless Käfer, let alone wrap my hands around this 'thing' - whether it's wild or not. Don't stop the crackpipe!
@Autoghost: Ever drove one? I have, not much of a torque steer i can report - though it will get beaten on anything other than dry tarmac by the scooby & evo, it's still a hoot to drive, and the sound of it...... pimples every time you prod the throttle.
(oh crap the double post...)
@Autoghost: Well, Ford do have the Focus RS then. You don't get much more of a monster in the cat....
@Autoghost: Not one to act anal, but precisely which Citroen are you refering to? I cannot recall them fielding any sort of rally special since.... well, ever?
'93 Thunderbird, a thing without any kind of thunder, or fly for that matter, in exchange of money i could get, say, an absolutely cracker of an E30 318is for?
In my land, that would be helluva nice price for a LC - even with the needed fitments. However, as i am not into the offroading hobby, live in a completely urban area with no really adverse weather around..... let's just say i don't need an LC, nor any other of it's brethren. Crackity pipity!
@pauljones: well said but let me just ask this: does a blogpost need to be a "positive social interaction" ...?
I know nothing about this car, apart from what iread above, plus i really don't know for what i might use it, but damn is this thing coooooool :-)
A good condition stock coupe, 10-12grand cheaper - that could work. Those things should have been utterly fast as i heard from a brisk-driving (but still alive) friend of mine, who owned one back in the day.
that's a bit too much to ask for a car that needs attention, and perhaps a thorough body restoration to feel& look like it should - even though it's a fabled tii. and a little too litle for a tii in as good a condition as it is described here. suspicious to say the least. crack pipe in deed.
@duurtlang: Better still: 320d coupé with the M-Sport package, and the (free) "no decall on the bootlid" extra.....
@rigidjunkie: Have you ever met anyone, who would buy a Mini, but would not be seen dead in a BMW....?
I somehow fail to grasp the point of this car. There's so much wrong with it, i don't know where to start. where's the 'fail' button when i need one..?
This lil' baby is TOP on my list of "cars to own before i go", i would say nice price even it would cost double that. Shame i am out of coin and 6036 miles from Sacr. Cal......
@Mediocre: +1 couldn't have summed up more concisely
@KeyserSoze - Professional Blog Commenter: It is. However, the JCW only gets "electronic LSD", that's in effect braking the wheel with too much spin. Now with 211 hp, and my foot pretty heavy for the shooting, the wheels were constantly having too much spin, and therefore the car was constantly using the front brakes.…
@KeyserSoze - Professional Blog Commenter: like that one..? [vimeo.com]
