So well said - I don't think women are invited to this, no. We're invited to be her, not to interact with her.

Do people really think that Pour It Up is not for the male gaze?? Seriously? There may not be men in it but I feel it is very much for their benefit. All the men I know who've seen it seem to think so. Especially that very last bit were she is twerking on the ground - as it looks like it would if she was being…
Speaking of "Mad Men", before she married, Betty was not only a bilingual fashion model who lived on her own in Rome for a while, but also had a degree In anthropology. Think of that the next time you see a rerun of Bets defrosting the freezer and putting in new shelf paper while slugging red wine.
All I learned from this is that Modern Bride mentioned female orgasms before Playboy did.
Trolls? Please. A troll is someone who says offensive things to get a rise out of people. The people who call you out for saying offensive things are not trolls. You did NOT say "I find this woman more attractive because she looks like me and my body type. I'm glad there are more woman who represent the average or…
I love this topic! And I never thought about it in quite these terms — the female gaze — but I have a few points to make.
It's the calling of skinny models "skeletons" that is pissing people off. Be happily attracted to thicker women, but you don't have to be a dick about women you don't find fuckable. Do you get that?
Body positivity: this is NOT the way to do it.
Interestingly, this showed up in my facebook feed the other day:
Back in The Day (TM), when my mom and dad were newlyweds in the 70s, they had a case of glass Coke bottles in the closet/pantry/whatever. This closet also housed the hot water heater or the furnace or something. Anyway, one night after they had gone to bed, my mom was awoken by the sound of glass breaking. She shook…
You are supposed to say something self effacing like "But i have much better taste in partners' than she does" and then we'd be like "OH YOU."
My son wasn't feeling well the other day and my wife was pulling things out of our garage for the ARC folks. My son helped her in spite of not feeling well and she told him that is a very manly thing to do and stroked his little 11 year old boy ego in an effort to compliment him for the work. Later I asked her why…
One night, my partner and I were in bed and heard a scary noise downstairs. He was all prepped and ready to go master the evil in the darkness, when I, joking, said "Be a man." He got back into bed and refused to check, while imploring me to 'Be a man.' I was, in fact, a man—and went downstairs to find the cats…
I really commend this woman for choosing to report her assault to the police after being assaulted by one of their own. I can imagine she must have been incredibly distressed and distrusting at this point and considering how the legal system treats victims, she is incredibly brave. I want to give her all the…
Wow, I can't believe she was brave enough to report the assault to the police, after a police officer himself assaulted her. I'm not sure I'd be able to do that. I hope she gets the justice she deserves.
Garofalo and I exchanged emails last night. I live in the MN urban district that did elect the first Muslim to Congress. I wrote Garofalo an email and resisted an urge to call him all the names I see posted here.
I thought it would be a tattoo of a dragon's penis, not a tattoo of a dragon on a penis!
How does he not see that this is terrible idea?
