It almost never makes sense to buy a “lightly used” truck. Depreciation is so slow, many times you can get a new one with incentives for less than a 2-3 year old truck. Trucks are like Wranglers: buy new or buy 15 years old, not worth it inbetween.

I’d buy some art. A Picasso or a Garfunkel.

Good article.

$95,000 for ideal happiness for an individual, though the Barenaked Ladies tell us if he had $1,000,000, he would buy her love... therefore love is 10x times more expensive than happiness. And I guess if you factor in inflation, it’s more like 1.6 mil to buy love.

Funny, but when you raise the case of pulling AR15s off the market to gun nuts, they’ll first claim that they’re relatively harmless, and just for fun and quote their statistics that they’re not that much more powerful than your average deer rifle. So then when you then ask them why they’d even bother with a gun like

If a guest comes over, sneezes

Do you imply it only applies to women? That’s just ridiculous.

I swear they’ve (corporate overlords) have made everything sweet now. Ketchup? sweet. Chinese food? sweet. Salad dressing? sweet.

I was talking about this just the other day. In addition to student loans, I’ve found that employers in this day and age are just as stingy as they claim millennials to be. They will not hire entry level employees for entry level positions. They want someone with years of experience to do grunt work for very little

Also- while I do understand their abundance of caution- Herpes testing in incredibly unreliable. Unless you have an outbreak they can culture, blood tests are not always accurate or reliable.

I get it for the show (I’d imagine they have a laundry list of health conditions that would disqualify you), but the stigma surrounding herpes is maddening. Most people that have it never know they do- as they are either completely asymptomatic or few symptoms so mild it’s mistaken for a yeast infection or ingrown

And it never goes the other way around, conveniently. I once had a guy rescind the offer of a second date because he found out about my post-graduation job (diplomatic service) and he was immediately like ‘NOPE!’ as though my career was the problem and not his lack of conversational skills.

As I said, when it’s really about survival then of course. But I read those comments and the article - I think this has more to do with a generation that has been given FEWER OPPORTUNITIES THAN THEIR PARENTS, BECAUSE OF THEIR PARENTS’ (and grandparents) POLICIES. Apologies for ‘yelling’, but that is an insane reality-

I’ve said it here before, but there’s truly very little I wouldn’t do to erase my massive grad school loans. Frankly, with my amount of debt, I’m a liability to a partner anyway.

This. A 36K raise? For someone in an entry level job - for a TEACHER for christ sake - that’s likely doubling what they have now.

You’re correct. Herpes isn’t tested for by any repro health experts unless someone has an active outbreak. We can’t distinguish between oral and genital herpes (90% of americans have the former, 20% the latter according to the CDC). So basically, if all you do is the blood test, almost everyone will test positive. If

Are they making a distinction between simplex 1 (generally oral) and 2 (generally genital)? That same NYT article stated the infection rate for HSV-1 was 48% for Americans age 14-49 (down from 59% in 2000).

I’m confused.

And you don’t have to worry your money will suddenly run off with the bank account they knew in high school who they’re “just friends” with.
