Yeah, this is why I stopped doing speed tests. The ISPs don’t give a rat’s ass.

I mean.... Jordan Catalano wasn’t much of a catch either.
I reffed intramural sports (primarily basketball and indoor soccer) in college to supplement my drinking budget. All-Male leagues were intense in the action, but generally those guys were just playing to play and were generally pretty chill to the refs and other players.
I get what you’re saying, and yeah, we should step up and say what we want. But it doesn’t always work out as “smooth sailing” once you assert yourself. In fact, in my experience it rarely does. I’ve been asked to be on co-ed softball teams by guys who explicitly invite me because they know I can flat-out play, and…
Not sure if they “hate” women as much as they don’t see any utility in them beyond them being somewhere to stick their penis and/or have their children. I’ve found that sentiment among some friends/coworkers (who all of course are in terrible relationships or divorced SHOCKER!) and find it pretty repugnant.
Charisma is such a weird thing! I see how some of it affects others (Dump upon his followers, for example) and shake my head, but other people’s particular brand might make all my hormones do the cha cha while my brain shut itself down and drooled.
Dear America: Can you show me on this doll where the “government” hurt you so bad? You guys get that the government is *you*, right? Since Reagan you’ve created this mythical monster that, I guess, came from outer space to subjugate you all, instead of it being a representation of the collective will of the country.…
This does come across like the guys who didn’t think about all the issues affecting women until they became the fathers of girls.
Let’s not give Virginia too much credit, here. (Maybe none?) She’s framing all of these things in a light that casts Alexandria as someone who is “looking for the government to do everything for everyone”. Virginia is not in any way buying into what Alexandria is talking about. Instead, she’s mocking it. It’s like…
Rugged individualism is hot garbage invented by rich, straight, white men to provide an origin myth for their power and success so that they don’t have to be faced with the truth that they arrived where they are by standing on the necks of people of color and women.
I hate the myth of rugged individualism because it makes people selfish and think people who are struggling are not trying hard enough. Not everyone has the same access to resources. Some places are closed to people. Honestly, working hard does not always mean you’re going to become a “success.”
Good, make conservatives actually articulate why they believe people don’t deserve these things. Put them on the defensive for why “kids don’t deserve education” is good policy.
I want to screenshot this and send it to my friend. She’s been with her husband nearly 20 years and was insisting that another friend of ours just gets messages like these while online dating because she’s so overbearing. I was trying to convince her that, no, a lot of guys online do this to everyone.
Bullshit, overweight men do not get anywhere close to the same level of harassment as overweight woman.
i really had high hopes for him. he was handsome and appeared to have a job.
Very thoughtful post. I wonder if I believe that being coupled – mutually dependent on another person – is the most natural, the most gratifying way to live? Or is independence, self-sufficiency and freedom the most satisfying state of affairs?
Wow and YES.
his response was “but... I will stay for as long as you will have me!”
I think you are correct that we as a society are trying to make a decision, but I don’t think it’s the same decision you lay out. It is easy to say what Marriage is for. Marriage is to legally and culturally cement a particular kind of family.
The question is: Do we care about that kind of Family?
Do we believe that two…
