I haven’t cracked the formula. Even with a 3.2-3.3(I haven’t thought about my GPA in a while) and heavy industrial equipment engineering experience it was radio silence for me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ehhh unfortunately I’ve about had my fill of engineering for the time being. I’m considering a career change to software development. May as well chase the money.
Ah I never have to deal with much of anything other than ice and compacted snow down here.
Iiiiinteresting. Do they hire people with experience outside automotive?
Weird. I never had any problems in my Si. My outback is a CHAMP. Oddly, my JK took the most getting used to! Maybe due to height and weight. Well and, much like mustangs and crowds, it’s a well documented fact that wranglers are basically waiting for an opportunity to roll you.
I wanna find that guy and turn him loose on north Texas when it ices over. Dave, I also need you to come explain how 4h / 4x4 doesn’t mean your trucks gonna stop more gooder and how an unweighted pickup bed is bananas. I’ll give you a little mall cop light to stick on top of the Cherokee.
I can’t speak to ford specifically, but I’ve been applying to Toyota for what feels like ages. I know for them specifically, they won’t talk to you unless you have automotive experience. Preferably auto tech turned established auto engineer experience. Even as an engineer with years of heavy industrial equipment…
“Endless job market and good pay”
This is all word of mouth amongst the engineers I know, but don’t a lot of the big domestics typically employ contract labor? I don’t know about other STEM sectors but that’s a pretty hard sell for my kind. Everyone I graduated with was gunning for(and found) permanent salaried position.
As much as we hate them around here, look at the vehicle market juggernaut - CUVs. I would argue that people absolutely DO care about fuel economy. CUVs offer the features people like about trucks/SUVs with sedanesque fuel economy.
3rd and 5th: say it louder I don’t think they heard you in the back!
You can post a video of a woman doing ANYTHING on YouTube and you’re gonna get a mixture of weird sex stuff and hateful trolling. Sometimes a mix of the two.
When I got my first manual, I honestly thought I was either doing something horribly wrong or that there was something defective with my car the first time I heard that. A few years later I was finally in the car with someone else who had a manual and heard theirs do the same thing. A wave of relief washed over me.
Incoming halfway coherent hungover word vomit.
Vermont country store probably has em.

I work in manufacturing as an engineer. I’m looking to leave and go on to tech. If you’re gonna treat me like shit, you’re gonna pay be a goddamn premium while you’re doing it.
American manufacturing is definitely not a progressive environment. The good ole boys network is the name of the game.
Stubble burn has ruined many good times. Control your face stubbles fellas.
I almost engineersplained mansplaining to you. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
Engineer lady jalop here. The explainers are infuriating on two different levels.
