This has nothing to do with the story, but did you know that Heather modeled UCLA gear (aka “Bear Wear”) for the student store catalog when she was in college? Dig those old school shorts! (Her dad was the registrar at UCLA, too. His signature was on my college acceptance letter.) Go Bruins!
Pretty sure Archer is with Miami, not Tampa Bay.
It’s ridiculously inexpensive. You can get a whole lunch for the price of a Starbucks drink. College students live on it.
Mine, too. Fuzzy that is. But my mom still lives out there and I take her shopping in that area, so I’ve been there fairly recently.
Yep. I didn’t know Jeni, but I stopped working there after a few years because I moved to West LA. But my friends worked there so she and I would definitely know a few people in common. It’s funny you mention the Peppertree because I used to work at the Northridge Four theaters (before Tempo) on Parthenia and Tampa…
I worked for a chain called Tempo Records. Long gone, now. Just a very cool indie chain.
I grew up in the Valley (the North Valley — Granada Hills, worked at record stores in GH and Northridge) as well (my mom still lives there, too, so I’m out there once in a while.) Used to love me that Big Boy Combo.
Encino, CA?

I didn’t mention it because I didn’t have any — good tip.
Compare that to the slop you get in U.S. 7-11s: Hot dogs of indeterminate age cooked on rollers, “chicken” wings of unknown origin and other inedible junk unfit for drunk stoners at 3am.
7-11 in Tokyo.
+1 order of McTapas
Then there was this one:
I was in kindergarten or first grade, can’t remember. We ended up moving away from NY and the Mets ... but it’s a great memory for me and I’m glad for you, too.
My first favorite team ... the ‘69 Mets ... came home from first grade and saw people jumping from the decks in Shea Stadium. Harrelson, Agee, Jones, Seaver, Kranepool ....
Why did she bother to buy a ticket if she wasn’t going to claim the winnings? Everyone knows that the lottery announces the names of the winners.
The true test of her poise comes after daddy gets traded to the Browns for the 4th overall pick in the draft.
