I’ll be the one to say it:

I have a 215k mile ‘05 legacy gt... Just get an 05-09 LGT (or STi if you have the $$ ) or any of the later models based on it (08-14 WRX/STi) and you should be fine. Earlier WRX’s are garbage IMO. Lots of turbo lag, glass transmissions, HG issues, crappy interior... Just lots of meh.

Likely the drivetrain components can’t really take that kind of power reliably and they don’t want a ton of warranty repairs.

I had a 928, I’m 6'2", and I rode in the rear a bunch of times, sometimes for an hour+. It works as long as you don’t weigh too much, they engineered the passenger compartment to put your legs on either side of the front seat and to have you sunk way down and a bit reclined in the chair. It's surprisingly comfortable,

If the cameras are integrated into a HUD or in dash display that removes the requirement for drivers to take their eyes off the road AND the cameras are high quality, high field of view, low latency, and IR-enabled for night driving, then YES I think this is a good thing.

This is purely for uniqueness. If you haven’t noticed, the drift world has basically already seen *all* the Japanese sports/touring cars, and a ton of American ones. They’ve seen all the combos, too. LS motors in RX cars, JZ motors in domestics, everything.

CP in my book. People need to stop overvaluing these super-meh older Ferraris just because they’re Ferraris. There are way more engaging cars for the price - they sound okay and they look pretty good. For those qualities, less the huge maintenance requirements, I wouldn’t pay over $20-25k for even a nice one. That’s

Isn’t this a *car blog*?? Shouldn’t the question be more “what should you fix yourself, what do you take to the mechanic?”

Dead thread revival: I live 10 min from this track, did you ever find more info on what’s going on here? I’d love to know more. I heard from some locals that decades of soil contamination might have killed the development dreams of that property. If you guys could figure out the status of the property through public

Me too lol

Yeah... this is what I see when I see this car’s front bumper.

Or... You know... They’re on an ice rink. They probably didn’t do more than 11mph for the tests considering an ice rink is only 200ft long from end to end, and 75' stopping also had to include acceleration. Sometimes it's not a conspiracy...

I actually did read through all of it, and I never saw any kind of credible statement suggesting you had looked into the differences between the Zeta and Alpha platforms, so I was legitimately wondering why you thought what you did (you spent a bit of time comparing car platforms to game engines which, while the

So you’re thinking it hasn’t changed in 12 years because you think the compact-to-midsized Alpha platform is fundamentally no different than the full-size Zeta platform? Despite the fact that the new platform was 400-700lbs lighter (depending on the models you’re comparing)? You think that kind of weight loss comes

... The Camaro is on the Alpha platform as of 2015, which has only existed since 2012.  Where is 12 years coming from?

No companies have been “trying desperately to catch up”. *Tesla* is desperately trying to make it in the automotive industry and is losing billions of dollars a year despite government subsidies to try to gain a foothold.

Right?

A buddy of mine designed national championship winning suspension for the UMCP FSAE car back when he was 21. Other guys on that team did fabrication. Given he’s working in solidworks, it’s a safe bet he’s a talented mechanical engineering major. A lot of guys in professional racing are a lot younger than you’d think.
