On MY planet, it means “hope.”

“Show your work.” The emptiest of empty bro rebuttals
It also bugged me how the song worked in the name of Legendary, the production company.
This is an excellent idea. One of the few things that seems to have outlived the first movie is the amazing soundtrack. It’s very recognizable, and I think it’s a mistake to abandon it.
I’m very ok with this. The Wilhelm scream was a fun Easter egg decades ago, but now it’s so well known and over-used that it takes me right out of whatever scene its in. It’s gone from being a cool thing that rewarded repeat viewings to a thing that distracts from the initial viewing.
Also Kyle Katarn and the Moldy Crow!
This argument would have a lot more merit if it wasn’t almost entirely female nudity. I believe every single woman in the cast was required to do at least one fully nude scene. I can only recall seeing two dongs.
One of the few Transformers voiced by a black man (the late great Scatman Crothers)? Proooobably not.
Err...a bit of a massive spoiler in that headline for anyone that hasn’t blasted through the season in the half-week its been out.
Ditching the ship-specific Star Fleet uniform logos from TOS in favor of reconning the Enterprise logo as that of Starfleet for the Abrams movies and, more frustratingly, the prime-universe Discovery series.
“Please, we’re professionals here. Call me Mr. Pilot.”
It opened against Jurassic Park. That’s why it failed. It wasn’t Jurassic Park.
This is...so dumb. Watchmen was a perfect little self-contained story. It doesn’t fit in the DCU. It doesn’t work in the DCU. Just leave it alone and let bit be its own thing. What’s next? A time-travel story where the Justice League meet Dark Knight Returns Batman and Kingdom Come Superman?
Just chiming in that I’m another man who wears a waist-size 30. Used to be 28 before I started gaining my mid 30s-belly.
Jane Espenson (Firefly, Battlestar/Caprica) also got her start on TNG, if I’m not mistaken.
That time mentally handicapped aliens kidnapped Geordi to “make them strong.”
That it eventually moves to a streaming service or network where it’s ACTUALLY accessible. Putting it on a new, network-specific streaming service that apparently ALSO runs ads is just begging for piracy, and even if not, it certainly reminds me of UPN trying to launch its ill-fated network with a Star Trek of their…
A 360 hinge that let’s it transform into a tablet? Like the Toshiba Satellite convertible I bought in 2005? Wow, Google...
Man, as a kid I LOVED this show. It doesn’t hold up super-well, but the chemistry between Robert Culp and William Katt is solid, and I still love the premise.
This is also the case for V For Vendetta, where V wasn’t supposed to be viewed as heroic, rather he’s the flip side of the totalitarian government. Totalitarian dystopia or total anarchy. But most people latched on to V as the hero simply for fighting the big bad government, despite his horrific actions.
