Back in the day they came out with bonkers road going rally cars and hot hatches as concept cars, but then never sold them
Marmon Sixteen > Cadillac V16
I always say it as a “Yeah, we can do it, but we wont because it doesn’t fit with our brand image” bullshit like the polestar batshit crazy volvo they did on Top Gear
Because they’re cheaper, i contribute a good chunk of the death of the manual on dealers. If they don’t order the inventory, they don’t have to worry about people seeing the cheaper options and deciding on the manual. No manuals on the lot, less chance someone will want to take one home.
Its because they cut waaaaay back on the chrome grill
Guy who first posted about it on reddit said they were a bit unsure of parking them all on tall dry grass but it needed to be done apparently
We got to see it roll through our town last fall. Thousands of people came out on a tuesday morning to see it roll through. Since i work at a railroad engineering company, the boss was fine with us going down to check it out. Also got to see my old, retired boss, who actually helped with some of the boiler…
I wouldn’t trust billionaires to know how to drive
clever. I have taken the route of, in the interest of health, having my bourbon on the rocks instead of just straight from the bottle.
Ooooo, fancy. ticked every box on that order sheet. I plan on keeping mine for as long as possible, so im taking care of it every way I can. 3-5k oil changes, major work done at a very respected German shop, keeping revs below 3000 until everythings nice and warm, and not going too crazy with tuning. I want that…

I had a spreadsheet with all of the info of about a dozen manuals for sale around the country, i was prepared to go anywhere for it. Finally found one with facelift, SD, Nav, B&O within my budget. It had just come off lease and the price was too good to pass up, i knew it was going to go fast. Booked two one way…
One of my favorite quotes as an engineer is “You try to make something idiot-proof, and the world will invent a better idiot”
Stage 1 tune is top of the list. Might splurge once the tax return comes in.....
Just had mine replaced at 98k. put an ECS lightweight flywheel and a Southbend clutch in. Was going to do a stainless clutch line too but they warned me its a tedious process and not really worth me paying them the hours, id be better off doing it myself.
Dont worry, it will probably take 15-20 years of crushing victory before that happens
I dont know the exact problems since I have a manual, but theres a megathread on the issues on Audizine.
Its on the spreadsheet for mods I plan to do.
Flew cross-country to get one with that magical drivetrain. 100% worth it.
