@stylista: I see, I did know about the ovens, I guess I just thought the term referred to the whole thing. Either way, blech.

Why anyone, especially celebrity women, could ever defend him is beyond me. "I know Mel, he's a nice guy!" STFU

@karie lou who: And he doesn't even take the potion to dull the pain in Braveheart! Cuz he's so brave!

@HonkyGeisha: Hearted for this phrase, although it's difficult to laugh right now :P

@LadyChatterley: That is beyond horrendous. I went to Auschwitz this past spring and I cringe to picture that happening- I went inside and everyone was just completely silent with horror at being in that place. It's difficult to imagine such blatant disrespect in such a powerful, sad place.

@Huey Freeman: haha I admit, a very stupid mistake. I read the article but obviously my mind was elsewhere writing the last reply. My point still stands however, although you're welcome to chalk it up to my mistake to get out of having a serious conversation about it - you obviously haven't with anyone else who

@Huey Freeman: It's not a "gesture," it's a form of foreign policy. It's also not mainly about repairing PR damage. Whether you or anyone else likes it or not, American troops are over there and have to engage with civilians in Iraq, and to say "well we already fucked up, so fuck it! Who cares if we cooperate/engage

@cand86: I have to say, both are damn sexy. But the copper is sexier IMO.

@Huey Freeman: ".. cultural sensibilities are nice and quaint and all but there's no actual reason right?"

@midwesternmom: "Be present for your child. Talk to them, listen to them, and never let any man be more important than the well-being of your children."

I heard a feature on this fad (if it is one) some years ago on the radio. As I said then, it's like a modern form of foot binding!

Holy fuck I want to eat him.

@TheMac: Unfortunately so many guys take this approach, of teasing a girl like she's a little kid. Ugh.

@thegoddesscher: She is right in terms of the national media attention. And while the new procedures are troubling especially for women, most of the outcry in the media HAS come from men.

@egg cream: Thank you. The response to her statement in this post confused me because it is hypocritical coming from Jezebel. You articulated it perfectly.

@kumquat_the_bold: Haha its not a problem for me, but I know it's unfair to them. It's just that each fulfills me in a way the other doesn't. The one I need to break with is a good friend I work with, and Im mostly scared of losing that friendship... boo. :(
