Why can’t coaches do this?

I coach both high school and some youth ball. The two biggest problems I see? Ego and a win-at-all-costs attitude.

Being a football coach is like being a politician. You don’t have to necessarily actually know what you’re doing—just need to convince the mouth-breathing masses that you know what you’re doing. Being loud and sounding very sure of everything you’re saying will get you most of the way there.

I wonder if this will be a recurring thing in college sports? I could see a lot of players across football and basketball deciding not to potentially injure themselves during a season in which they’re not getting paid while preparing to go high in a draft. It would probably make the NCAA think twice about not paying…
