In my experience, victim blamers love this type of story, because it lets them set up a false dichotomy between "real" rape and sluts who are making up accusations to ruin a poor man's life. They'll be loudly outraged because it's safe; it involves another country and a holy woman.

No, you're not the only one. A lot of people are intentionally overworked by their bosses and company. I know plenty of workplaces where proving you can get your current amount of work done in 8 hours just means you'll be given more work. I've heard this stated baldly.

Oops, I meant men. I'm nice to spinsters. I intend to become one someday.

Downton Abbey has associated the name with "spinster who has horrible luck with me" forever for me. I think there are some very pretty old-fashioned names but Edith, Agnes, Agatha, etc. should be retired.

Gotcha.

I guess I don't see your point; conservative Christians want to control other people's choices. Sophie doesn't seem like she's trying to do that here, or that she's espousing your Jesus/Pope quote. Is the connection simply because there was a spiritual element in her story?

I agree.

Whoa, that is so not what I'm saying. I'm not saying she can't talk about inequality; I'm saying she can't hold herself up as an example of discrimination when her writing is not in fact equal to the writers she keeps referring to. There ARE different qualitative levels of talent and literary skill that are okay to

Agree. This dialogue makes me twitch because Weiner seems to be saying, "I'm just as good as he is" - and she's not. Her writing does not approach that level. And I hate that her name is being attached to the debate because then it makes it too easy for assholes to shoot down the very real dynamic of male writers

I didn't know that! How exciting.

I'm just relieved Elizabeth Banks is back. Now what about Utkarsh Ambudkar?

That little actress is fantastic. I could totally see her in a horror movie.

A lot of kinksters buy props at Home Depot, AKA Domme Depot. Spring clips, chains, ropes, ties, those free wooden paint stirrers that leave such a nice sting... It's a quick and convenient option for people who don't have a nearby sex shop and is usually a better alternative to those cheap bondage kits.

I went through something similar. When I told 2 friends (who knew him) their reaction was "OMG, how could you talk to him? Why didn't you press charges? You should have told everyone! Run him out of town!" I explained my feelings at the time: that because I knew this person, I saw him as a friend who'd done something

I'm going with a whole bunch of people. I think it's going to be one of those things where the whole theatre laughs their ass off.

Same. While pansexual is probably the most accurate word for me, I'm just exhausted by constantly answering dumb questions and sometimes can't face any more. Like in a professional context, I'll come out as bi when asked and people will understand what it means. Were I to answer "pansexual" a lot of people would be

I was thinking Hieronymus Bosch.

Please let SyFy Channel make a movie about zombie cats and dogs that come back from the grave to kill anyone who's abused them.

Jezebel just mocked Leo DiCaprio for his non-age-appropriate behavior a few weeks ago, didn't they? For sitting on a beach with women in their 20s.

I think that a huge part of the appeal is that there's no performance anxiety. She can't judge his sex skills or the size of his dick. And of course there's the thrill of non-consent and in the case of gang rape, proving his manhood to his pals.
