Yes, the Hue strip is expensive (around $80.) I’ve thrown myself behind the whole Hue line of products, for now. Though there are some neat alternatives out there that can give better color performance than Hue (not the light strip, which is RGB, but their A9 and Br30 bulbs.)

Considering the X1 came out in 2013, I’d say an upgrade at three years isn’t bad for a console. Which will support 4k and UHD.
