Hm, as soon as one of my lines went off contract I got a $20 a month discount. I’ll receive another $20 discount as soon as another phone of mine goes off contract, next month. Weird.

4-5 years ago if you bought your phone in full you paid for the option to leave that company any time you wished. Was it worth it? All depends.

Actually, once my phones went off contract I called Verizon and my plan was lowered. If you kept paying after you paid for your phone, it’s because Verizon wasn’t going to automatically give you the discount. You had to actively ask for it.
