Something to think about: Samsung's VR headset. It's just a really fucking big version of Glass in some ways. I could put this thing on and start recording video via the attached smartphone that is powering the entire device. I can get augmented reality on it. I could record you bitching at me about wearing the device…

Are you special? I feel like you're special. As in handicapped. Because Gawker media has been critical of Glass since its inception. Do you not, you know, read articles? Do you just look at the pictures and titles and think "oh pretty" and skip on to the comment section?

Trust me, it isn't 'easier' to know I'm recording you with my smartphone. The difference is you feel like it is obvious so you're more relaxed. But it's a foolish notion.

Please be judgmental about it. I already know I am, in the opposite fashion. It's a litmus test for irrational, panic prone, and stupid individuals. Knowing they have a problem with the product gives me a good enough reason to remove them from my life.

I could do that in person just as easily, if not easier, than the Glass user. And that's just with my cellphone. (HELLO NSA, NICE TO BROADCAST TO YOU AGAIN.)

The average normal consumer has no idea what it wants, when it wants it, or how it could improve their lives. It takes good marketing (which Google isn't doing) plus a little bit of time for the market to explode.

Sadly, some of the more mundane theories turn out plausible. Such as governmental spying ala the internet. The people who told us of these things pre-Snowden were called nutters. Now, their paranoid rants have been vindicated and we simply refuse to acknowledge they were right. /shrug.

My favorite theory, that I posit myself, is that we put a dangerous artifact on the comet to get rid of it. We couldn't just chuck it into the Sun without destroying everything and maybe, just maybe we'll need it again, so we put it on a comet.
