I've built more than a handful and I'm always cringing when I go to turn it on for the first time. It's always something coming unplugged or the like. To me, it happens frequently enough I budget half an hour just for troubleshooting the first time I turn a system on.

Patricia, I'm glad to hear your ASRock Z97 board worked fine! I just upgraded my PC (ASRock z97 Extreme 4) this week and my first two DIMM slots (for the RAM) must be faulty. So I have to RMA the board. Whoomp whoomp. It does work in single channel mode with the other two slots, though.
