Right, but ultimately the energy used to expand the air has to come from the fuel.  if you have less fuel you have less potential energy to work with.  Granted this largely deals with ideal stoichiometric reactions.

I would say the manifold gets hot because you have radiant heat from an engine bay cooking it. Just turn your engine off and let it sit and your manifold will be rocket hot the next time you try to start the car without any air flow, which is one reason that hot starts can be so tough on some cars. The air moving

So did Ford end up building that steel plant when Dodge couldn’t?  I can’t imagine how the automotive landscape may have changed if Dodge was the one that built it.

Okay, I could get behind that idea I suppose.  I would think air moving through a hot manifold faster would pick up less heat though than air that hangs around in it for a while.

and allows for 12 percent less fuel use for the same amount of power

A Tacoma is a bit smaller truck though, which I can see working with a 4 cylinder. I’m picturing more full size stuff that a general contractor would use. I can see the 4 cylinders working in stuff like the Tacoma and old S10 and similar.

Eh, I would argue that Tesla did beat all the other automakers to a real fully electric car in the mainstream.  At least they seem like the first that has really gotten a foothold in the market, even if they weren’t strictly the first to offer one.

and a 25-percent weight reduction

This makes me wonder about autonomous cars to some degree.  Would they need to be calibrated to certain tires?  If suddenly your performance envelope changes significantly from “factory” how much swing could a system handle?  I get that most ABS systems and such just care about wheel speed and monitor that, but if

I would be curious to see a review of this with some towing and hauling included.  I get that this truck is probably more aimed at those who want a truck “just in case they need to move something” vs a contractor who hauls stuff on a regular basis, but that seems like a lofty towing number.  Sure it might be able to

Fair, but that’s not really a full size truck I don’t think.  I can see things like the old S10 and other smaller trucks working with 4 cylinders, but not a full size Silverado or Ram or F150.

Just build the Alfieri already.  That’s all.  Build it with a growly V8 like they showed as well and it would sell even better.  Build it as a full EV as well.  Just build it.

I guess the tricky thing with 4 cylinder trucks for me is that I just don’t see them surviving for “real” truck use. However, I would tend to think that most people that actually use their trucks as trucks on a regular basis wouldn’t be buying that spec to begin with. I can’t imagine the fuel economy numbers would

This will make it the first global, one make electric championship in history.

The other thing I’ve learned to love in all of my wrenching experience is Dawn soap.  It’s one of the few things that really does a good job of cutting the grease.  I’ll take a shower with Dawn and my trusty fingernail brush when it’s been a really long/dirty day of wrenching.  My hands still have dirt stuck in some

I’m surprise someone at Honda didn’t at least blow the thing off with a hose after the run to get rid of some of the salt.  The things race in the rain, so water can’t be that hard on them.

I tell people this all the time that talk about hybrids and gas mileage, but then have long commutes on the highway.  A hybrid doesn’t really make that much sense for someone whose primary commute involves highway travelling at speed.  Sure the battery part will get you to the highway with less fuel used, but if you

You also have the benefit of a garage and house to pull in to.  Have an apartment with a lot.  Pretty sure you aren’t going to be running a cord out of your apartment every day to plug in your car.  For that matter look at how many houses have garages that are full of everything that isn’t a car.  So many are just

Quite fascinating

I had a similar idea.  Reading through it just made me think that it would be cool if he remade his game in modern technology so he could see it for real as he intended it.  The sad part about that though is that while it would have been revolutionary back when it first came out, today it would just be another flower
