But that’s the Dodge approach (and admittedly one reason I like them so much in a weird way). The old muscle cars were complete bricks in the wind, so the solution to make them faster? More power!

That’s sort of the SRT theme song at the moment. It’s in some of their other ads like the “warning” ad that has the scrolling text with the flashing Challenger lights. Plays at the end when the flares light up to show the other models.

I can’t even tell that’s a Hellcat, let alone a car. I can sort of make out a wheel, but that’s about it.

They might be able to fit “a” AWD system to the car, but that doesn’t mean those components would put up with twice that power. Gears and shafts are only half the equation, you have to have the case to hold them too. Sure, you can make an AWD system that has the strength to survive 1000 hp and similar torque

Okay, didn’t really think about the displacement thing. Guess that would make sense.

Yeah, admittedly all of their products don’t seem to have the same reliability. Seems like their high end performance models hold together well, but there are several other things they make that don’t see to have the same luck.

They weren’t really technically factory cars as I understand it. Basically the factory built a pretty empty roller and then it got sent to Hurst to actually install the engine. I think the Barracuda version might have been a little more factory built, but it would really be a stretch to call it a “production line”

Ah, I see what you mean. The Dart name on the new Dart was a crap choice so at least the Demon name went on something cool. Makes sense now.

The last time I installed FF7 on my PC is seems like the in-game clock doesn’t keep accurate time. The game runs fine, but the clock seems to run slow or something. I think I was at the final dungeon is under 10 hours or something like that, which I knew was bogus. I have way too many hours into that game though as

Poorly titled article. The first thing I thought after reading the story was “Imported drugs? I could totally understand shooting that bill down based on safety standards.” It’s not like they wholesale denied cheaper drug prices as the headline would imply.

“At high RPMs” is just the thing though. Sure you have good power up top that’s right on tap, but most of these cars lug around down low with crazy overdrives for mileage. They aren’t high winding flat planes and small displacement engines. I thought the new Whipple style ones were also getting much better at

I think any president needs a bit of a chance to actually settle into the office and get the feel of how things work. Have you ever started a new major job you’ve never done before and known exactly how it all works before making one move? It’s the honeymoon phase now. He’s making sweeping changes because he got

Hellcats are pretty dang reliable as I understand it. And my 04 Viper has nearly 105,000 miles and all I have to do for maintenance is change the fluids every once in a while.

But why? TT is good for top end power, but a screw supercharger is instant-on and hearkens back to the muscle cars days like SRT is so fond of doing.

*ahem*

I think a fair amount of it is based on accidents and claims for specific makes and models. Don’t think they get into trim levels as much on them. New stuff probably hasn’t been out long enough to get data on typical repair costs, so they might be using older model prices still.

I wonder if this is more or less like the ADR (American Drag Racer) concept they showed at SEMA a while back in a more street style form.

It might have “crap” welds, but those cars get beaten to hell and back on a regular basis on the track and never seem to fail. Sometimes it’s not all about looks, it’s about function.

I realize NASCAR is somewhat unique, but honestly in my mind if you are regularly taking hits while racing you are doing it wrong (the you could be the sport in general, not just the driver). Travelling at 200 mph and expecting to get hit is not right, even less so when piloting something that weighs a few thousand

That was the guy we bought it from, my parent’s is kinda beat up after all the years we’ve spent working on cars on it, lol.
