From what I’ve seen of people that like shipping characters, cannon has zero relevance to what they want. “Do those two boys kiss? You bet they do. They’re married? So what, they still kiss in my world.” is the typical sort of thing I hear. Personalities matter more than actual backstories to a lot of people, not

Actually drove it? 10,000 miles over 10 years is not driving a car. That’s 1000 miles a year, or roughly about 3-5 tanks of gas most likely. I put 1000 miles on my Viper in a month and have 60,000 miles in 5 years. That’s getting your money’s worth in my opinion. I put more gas in my car in a month than a lot of

I kinda dig it, though I agree it’s a tad too busy maybe. Nice to see cars are at least getting some personality again.

Does this count? It was the day we bought it.

Did it on two different dynos, I think first might have been a dynojet, though I don’t remember exactly. Second dyno did show a little less, though everyone was down a similar amount and the conditions weren’t as good. I think it was 405 or something at the second one. Still higher wheel horsepower than what the

I think underrated to some degree. My mom’s 94 Viper is factory rated at 400 crank hp. Only mods we know of are the cats being removed and the factory mufflers being replaced with smaller units, no tuning. The car made 420 hp at the tires... Pretty sure you don’t get that much extra out of just a less restrictive

A rear wing, for when your roughly 23.7 metric tons of straight up mass doesn’t give you enough downforce.

Was there a reason behind needing a sedan? Didn’t catch anything obvious in the story aside from replacing “like with like” to a degree. The picture appeared to have several other vehicles, though I guess they might not be in his family.

One of these things is not like the other...

So how long before they start downsizing electric cars to make them more like the dreaded word I hate to say, “crossovers”. Sure, lots of room is well and good and minivans/box vans/conversion vans have their place, but a giant hulking shape is still going to promote more drag, which is going to tax any propulsion

I built that very model and used it for a science fair display. Needed better glue though. Also built a 426 Hemi one that had a little motor that would turn it over, but had a similar glue problem with it.

Why must you remind me that these exist? I want one so bad...

I think the race coverage on NBC Sports (or whatever it’s on now, I can never remember) is actually pretty good. They cover what I actually want to watch (the racing), and the commentators are a pretty fun knowledgeable bunch that have some varied experience in the sport (mechanic, driver, etc.). It would be neat if

I guess it’s because I’ve worked on cars for years, but I’ve never thought drum brakes were that bad to work on. The worst part is just getting the drum off, replacing the pads and stuff is fairly easy after that.

A reasonable pair of dikes would snip off the end of metal zip ties pretty easily. They don’t require a hacksaw or anything like that or the metal would be so strong you wouldn’t be able to bend it like a zip tie.

The story with the class reunion just reminded me that I had my 10 year one last year. I still have my high school car too, so I was debating whether to drive it to the reunion or not to see who would notice.

In context, internet connected cars are invaluable

I think the Hemi was more underrated than a Cobra Jet. I remember a show on TV years ago that tackled this issue. They had shops build several famous engine to factory specs and then dyno’d all of them to see how they stood up. The Cobra Jet was definitely up there and something like 100hp+ off the rating, but the

My parent’s policy on cell phones for me was I didn’t need one until I could drive on my own. Otherwise the only places I’d be would be friend’s houses or school. I was actually pretty fine with it and it made a lot of sense to me. I had video game systems before then, but didn’t really binge on them that bad. I

Today, there’s really only one thing left in some cars that acts as a way to prevent unqualified people from starting a car. It’s called a clutch pedal.
