Boeing management seems to want to do everything on the cheap. They came up with a hacked together new plane and called it a 737 in order to avoid costs associated with certifying a new plane. I think the “run forever” thing is always a bit exaggerated. I’m not disputing they are reliable, but a 1998 anything with 200,000+ miles is going to require putting some money into it.

I don’t really understand why these are so sought after. You can get a almost new 4runner for that price and it’s 100% better in every metric. Except for the 5 speed I guess is an argument. That 3.4L is a gutless pig.

Of course GM sales are dropping in China.  Their Chinese “partners” have finished stealing all the IP and trade secrets they need and are now incorporating them into their own cars which have a lower cost base because of all the slave labor they use.  Gee, who could have seen that coming?

GM, much like the other 1(2) American automakers and other companies in general can only blame themselves. Complacency, laziness, and short term thinking screws over too many American companies. It seems like they can only think 3 months ahead due to Wall Street and earnings announcements. The Chinese are running away…

I never really understood the appeal of blacking things out, especially on a car like this. They’ve literally took every identifiable element and hidden it, while also removing the chrome accents that make the car look complete. This Audi looks like a two-color grocery store sheet cake with no roses or writing on it.

2nd and 3rd: China

To be fair, suspended licenses mean nothing, in part, because it’s damn near impossible to get by in this country without driving. For a lot of folks, it’s either risk getting caught or lose your job.
